About the neighbourhood
South Haven, Michigan is a very welcoming town. It has a nice selection of restaurants, antiques, shops, parks, marina, and beautiful sandy beaches. The Kal Haven trail also starts in South Haven and goes to Battle Creek. This trail is great for biking, running, walking or cross country skiing. We love to pick the fruit when it is in season and bake pies, make jam and of course sample right from the plant. South Haven is known for its blue berries but you can also pick raspberries, black berries, and apples when they are in season. If picking is not your style you can find fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmers market along with local art and crafts. In the winter you can ice skate downtown or sled.
Getting around
Walking is the best way to explore South Haven. You can easily walk to the shops, restaurants, parks and beaches from our home. You will need a car to get to the grocery shops, orchards and neighboring towns.
