This cottage was very cute and in a brilliant location for visiting Lympstone. It had everything you could possibly need in it and was very comfortable. Would love to stay here again!

Lovely little cottage, which is perfectly located for excellent local pubs, the river and the train station to other interesting local areas. The owners are also really lovely and helpful, which makes your stay even better!

The cottage was perfect for our stay in Lympstone and a joy to return to at the end of a busy day visiting family in Exmouth and walking. The cottage could not have been better equipped, a real home-from-home. Thank you!

Small but perfectly formed. If you lean out of the front door you can almost touch the pub over the road. If you have an hour to kill... sit on the flower box outside the cottage's front window and watch the word cycle past.

We absolutely loved staying in the cottage for a weekend and loved the village . The pub across the road is fabulous and the Roast dinners are to die for . We will definitely return as we’ve fallen in love with this fabulous coastline . Peter met us at the cottage and gave us a few tips and was on hand if we needed anything. We couldn’t of asked for more !

The cottage is quaint and clean. Great shower. Disappointed that the washer/dryer wasn’t working. Also surprised when we returned from a walk and the cottage was open with a repair man inside. He couldn’t fix it so we had no access to it. The cottage heating is controlled remotely by the owner which is odd. The bed was uncomfortable. It is in a lovely spot.

Excellent little house right in the centre of the village. Directly opposite station so great for trips to Exmouth. Ship Inn does excellent food. House well equipped but we didn't really use. Jan very friendly on check in. Would definitely come back.

Great last minute break, convenient location in the center of town, opposite a pub. Small but adequate for 4 people. Double bed could do with replacing but we were so tired we slept through the creaks and rattles. Great host, flexible and accommodating to last minute changes to our booking.

3 of us spent 2 nights in this lovely, cosy cottage. Warmly welcomed by Pete who gave us good advice on the local restaurants. The cottage is well equipped and has a great shower. Excellent location in thriving village, near to shop, railway station, cycle route and 3 pubs - The Swan being directly opposite the cottage. We look forward to returning and would thoroughly recommend staying here.

About the neighbourhood
The Puffing Billy at Exton (5 minutes by car) or a 20-minute walk along the cycle track, is also excellent. We would recommend you book just to make sure. The Turf Locks Hotel has extensive gardens alongside the river and canal. The Hotel is on the opposite side of the estuary and is only accessed via a footpath, cycle route or by boat. You can take a ferry from Topsham to the Turf, or catch a ferry from Exmouth and walk or cycle the three miles from Starcross to Turf. The hotel is only open on the Summer season – Easter to September – but has an excellent reputation for good food. There are large gardens to relax in alongside the Exe estuary and the picturesque Exeter canal. The River Exe Cafe is relatively new to the River Exe but is attracting a huge following with visitors travelli...
