What a stunning location ! The cottage was warm clean and comfortable and just the peace and quiet we were looking for. Beautiful scenery and exploring the grounds was an adventure, but the icing on the cake was finding the foreshore and paddling in the crystal clear water. It was also an ideal base for a trip to Glen Coe, Fort William and Glenfinnan where we were fortunate to see the Jacobite as it passed over the viaduct. The small town of Inveraray is a short drive, and although most shops and restaurants were open, COVID is still having an effect in some places. As other reviews have mention, the cottage is tired and could do with a freshen up, but having said that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and my daughter is longing to visit again.

This cottage just provided us a cosy, fun and magical week. It was easy to book and we had loads on info before we arrived about how to get there and get in! Clean and warm, lots of logs and extra bedding. Amazing surroundings and lovely walks, easy access to beach and do friendly!

The visit to Ardno cottage is an amazing experience which starts from the 1/2 mile winding road through the estate that leads to the cottage. The views are spectacular and the cottage is very cosy and tastefully decorated. Ailsa and Rob are amazing hosts and are always available for any assistance. It was very kind of them to bring in fresh eggs and offer us the fresh produce from the garden. There are sheep, cows, rabbits, hens and ducks in the estate which is a major attraction for the children. There are two streams flowing by the cottage which add to the charm of the cottage. There is a nice walk across the bridge over the stream that takes you to the lake. There is a nice picnic area close to the beach made with tree logs which is another nice touch for the family to gather around a cosy fire for barbecue. The cottage is well equipped with lots of space and a real wood fire in the living room. The views from the living room and the master bed room look out into the lake and the castle across the lake. The cottage is conveniently located to local attractions around the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Sites like Inveraray, Oban, Isle of Bute, Fort William and Mallaig. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend for family groups and close friends.

This cottage was equipped with everything we could have imagined. We were warmly welcomed with a Christmas tree and home-baked mince pies and cakes along with a crackling fire which set the tone beautifully for a happy new year. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. If you are looking for a quiet location with fantastic views in every direction, you will not be disappointed.

The cottage is large and modern with all the comforts of home. Useful boot room and log store. There is an easy walk along farm drive to the loch side and other walks have been cut to guide you around the estate. A very quiet and restful location.

The location was ideal. Central for all the places we wanted to go to. Great family house with everything we could wish for. Home from home. Great that the dog was able to come along. Will definitely return. As usual weather was typical of Scotland and the midges had their boots on.
