About the neighbourhood
Plymouth is a small town at the confluence of the Pemigewasset and Baker Rivers, in the foothills of the White Mountain National Forest. 100 miles north of Boston and 60 miles north of Manchester, it is home to Plymouth State University, with excellent proximity to the Holderness School, as well as both Newfound and Squam Lakes and all their beauty. As a small town, nothing is far away-- you can easily walk to all of PSU, Speare Memorial, the shops and eateries of Main Street, and easily amble over to The Flying Monkey for a show. Our tree-lined short street is in a quiet residential prewar neighborhood, just four blocks from downtown and PSU.
Getting around
Plymouth does not have public transportation per se, but is quite walkable as there are only a handful of streets in the downtown area. To access the larger lakes region and the forest, you will need transport of some sort. We are happy to provide guidance on where to explore, and can offer maps and guide books for your perusal.
