Beds were very nice in comparison to others we have stayed in at rental properties. Fully stocked camp! This was a huge bonus, bring your clothes and food and you are set. Cozy and comfortable, with a beautiful setting. Easy checkin. Perfect size for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). Cons: There was a musty mildew like odor that was strong enough everyone noticed upon entrance, for those with sinus and allergy issues/asthma you would not want an extended stay or to stay inside relaxing and reading for your duration. After allergy meds I was still itchy and stuffy. We spent most of our time on outside adventures, so it was doable in our situation. Hosts are more than thoughtful as they literally have everything covered in the camp for a comfortable stay. Thank you

We had a great time! Just what we were looking for to relax and swim. Lots of amenities already on site. The location of the bay has a lot of lilly pads but there's a private beach a few feet away to swim! The owners are nice and easy to communicate with. We'll be back! Thanks so much!

We expected only two things: Access to water and Pleasant surroundings. #1) There was no way to get out of the water (stairs/ladder/ramp) - impossible for our dog. Also, too precarious to board/disembark a kayak. The bay at this location is 2 feet of water and 2 more feet of muck that you sink into - no wading possible. #2) The neighboring properties are out of Sanford & Son junk yards. Poor views due to Winnebago's & pontoon boats. The interior of property was old and worn.

Cabin was clean and not one bug inside. We slept in the second bedroom and the bed was very comfortable. Outdoor chairs were comfortable with cushions. Shower was OK. Hot water was excellent. Ac cooled off the cabin (only one room at a time on hot days) but with the small fans it made for a nice night's sleep. Everything was workable fridge (nice and big) grill and fire pit. Fire pit may need to be replaced soon because it's rusting out on the bottom. The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans dishes pot holders utensils etc. And thank you Grandma's Cottage for providing the book of house rules also the business directory. If you love photography you will love this place. I loved shooting the swans babies blue heron and the other amazing birds. Also if you enjoy fishing you will love this cabin. A nice sized dock is provided. You can sit with coffee and enjoy the nature. My biggest disappointment is I book lakeside places because I'm a swimmer. The water was filled with Lilly pods and was stagnet from not having any rain. The house rule book mentioned a swimming are across the street on Lake Ontario. My husband and I checked it out and it was in between two docks with boats. We ended up going to West barrier bar to swim. Which is a 5 minute drive. The state beach is almost as close seniors get in free during week days and if you purchase a state empire pass its free. I love the area. The winery which is a mile away is wonderful. We enjoyed the bayfest excellent platters of food sangria was refreshing and the music was awesome. Thank you Grandma's cottage for making a memorable weekend for us both

The rustic cottage was very comfortable. Apart from the basic amenities, little details were. taken care of by Ed and Amy. Little things like providing toothpaste, tooth brush( if you forgot yours), flashlight in case of outage, herbal tea, black tea and coffee, etc.etc. The kitchen was spic and span with all the little things needed in any kitchen. We liked the view outside as a family of swans ( with 5 baby swans) gave us a nice photo opportunity. We saw neighbors kayaking and the place and people had a relaxed feel. We had a nice relaxing time in the cottage. When I complemented Amy about the nice design of the place with space for every little human need she said that it has taken three generations to get there which explains the detail oreintedness of the accomodation.

The location is great. The cottage was clean. Finding the place was easy. Check in simple BUT the cottage had an unpleasant musty smell. It had a significant negative impact on our stay. We actually left at the end of our second day. We had planned on leaving in the morning but left in the evening to avoid another night of uncomfortable sleep due to the odor. I am glad we brought our own camp chairs. The ones at the cottage either had no cushions or were dirty plastic ones stacked by the cottage. We used the gas grill it would have been nice if the grill wasn’t dirty and rusty. The location is amazing and we did enjoy spending our time outside but too many drawbacks for us to consider staying again

Amy & her husband makes sure you have everything you need. If you happen to love fishing.... Look no further. You for the best place there is. Planning another stay in the fall. 🙂

Perfect spot for fishing. Comfortable place.

First, the pics doesn't come close to how beautiful this place is. The owners were there to help & answer all the questions we had. If you love fishing there's no words to express the exciting time you'll have. We're planning to make this a every year stay.... Grand Ma's House is a hidden gem. See you guys later this fall. 🙂
