The best holidays in ages
What an experience! This was our first visit to the Scilly Isles and we had absolutely no idea what would await us. Fortunately, Peter provided us with useful information right after our booking that helped us prepare and everything went smoothly. The information about luggage transport options was particularly important and helpful. When we arrived at Mount Flagon we were just overwhelmed - the house, the views, the gardens were amazing. While everything on St. Mary's is in walking distance, the location of Mount Flagon is exceptional as it's far enough from Hugh Town to be quiet while at the same time allowing for a walk to The Store in a few minutes. We loved the walks and the boat tours and then coming back to our temporary "home away from home" to enjoy the garden and relax, and we very much hope to make it back to St. Mary's and to Mount Flagon again. Many thanks for providing such a lovely place to stay.

Wonderful view
We really enjoyed our stay at Bryher. Having been to St Mary's before we knew the area well. The accommodation was fine for us, but for a family the kitchen would be a challenge. Eating out at The Beach or Juliet's garden would make up for this, also the views from the main bedroom and outside seated area.

A lovely house on a beautiful, tranquil island
We had a wonderful trip to St Mary's such a beautiful, tranquil island. Bryer was very clean, well equipped and an excellent base for exploring St Mary's and the other islands. The children appreciated the toys, games and books and I fell in love with the beautiful, ever changing view from the main bedroom window.

Superb house and garden in a great location
We had a fantastic week staying in this beautifully appointed, spotless house. It provided everything we could wish for and more. We enjoyed our own private terrace in the garden from which we could enjoy the birdsong and the stunning views. We had lovely weather and visited a different island each day. The harbour is a 15 minute stroll along the coast path with amazing views around every corner. Bryher is also a perfect location for visiting the delights of St Marys with Hugh Town and Old Town close by. I would love to make a return visit in the future.

Heaven on earth
Always wanted to visit the Isles of Scilly and it has not disappointed. Wonderful views round every corner, delightful locals, delicious eateries and excellent accommodation. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather which helps. Don’t want to rate it too highly in case it gets too popular.

Quiet & relaxing holiday home in a great location, the dogs enjoyed it too!
Lovely holiday home in great location, 2 minutes walk to dog friendly beach and a lovely 15 minute walk into Hugh town along the coast. House was extremely well equipped they also supplied an abundance of dog towels dog bedding and bowls which was extremely helpful.. Lovely bedding , towels and beach towels were also supplied. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely make a return visit. The gardens were beautiful and although they are shared with a few other adjoining properties we never saw anyone, and each house has its own very secluded seating area. Well done the Bryher team keep up the good work

Sea, sky and succulents all in an oasis of calm.
Bryher has an amazing location, on a rise, which means that most of the windows have far reaching sea and countryside views. Very close to a lovely sandy beach there are also many other walks one can access from the property. It takes about 10 minutes to walk along the coastal path to Hugh Town and 5 minutes in the other direction is Juliet's restaurant which can be recommended. Bryher's hillside garden has been thoughtfully designed and has at least 4 secret seating areas apart from the raised deck solely for Bryher's use. It is chock full of succulents, unusual trees and bushes and although shared with 3 other properties, we seemed to be the only ones strolling through it. A great place for stargazing too. The accomodation is very well presented, comfortable and stocked with everything you might ever need for self catering, so there was no problem making crumbles from the foraged local blackberries! We had THE best holiday here and are planning a return for next year.

Week in Bryher
Absolutely amazing accomodation. ..everything catered for and so near to the several beaches and main town only a 10 minute walk. We had the best week of weather and the white sands and blue seas made it feel like being in the carribean but better. Everyone is so friendly. ...I can honestly say this is the best weeks holiday we have had .

Quiet, comfortable and convenient accommodation with a phenomenal view of the sea from the master bedroom.
This three bedroom two story is immaculate and everything is top of the line from the comfortable beds with crisp white linen, to the small galley kitchen with the stainless steel dishwasher drawers (love those). The master bedroom had a panoramic view of the harbor below from a wall of windows. My mother, who accompanied me on this trip, had one of the smaller bedrooms (two twin beds) that looked out over the gardens. We had our morning cup of tea in the big master bed and surveyed the scene below: boats, sparkling water in the sunshine. The third bedroom had a twin bed and a washer/dryer behind a curtain. The bathroom upstairs is large with a good shower and a lovely skylight so it was always full of sunlight and felt warm. All bedrooms had a hair dryer in the drawers, wonderful sheets and quilts, radiators if needed, and ample wardrobe space . The kitchen was very well equipped and modern and we fell in love with the dishwasher that was two stainless steel drawers. It is a small kitchen but very efficient. There is a shower room downstairs, small but everything is clean and works well. A dining room table is big enough for at least six people and two leather sofas in the attached living room with a table that matches the dining table, and end tables. I don't know if the furniture was specially made for this place, but it is very solid and modern and well designed. Even the curtains are well made and coordinate with the rest of the house. There is much attention to detail here and a lot of thought to make guests comfortable and that they have everything needed. There is a walk to St. Mary's along the coastal path, and it takes about ten minutes. An easy walk, and it makes for a quieter stay away from the main part of town. My mother is an active 85 and managed ok, but for someone with more limited mobility it may be a bit difficult. We went to Tresco, Brhyer, and St. Agnes, all of which were short distances by ferry and worth a visit. Easy to get taxis when needed, and would recommend electric cart rental if you need a rest from walking everywhere. Highly recommend this rental.

About the neighbourhood
Activities: Local boats run daily to the islands of Tresco, Bryher, St Martin's, St Agnes and Samson. An alternative way to explore the islands is by Sea Safari taking in shipwrecks, sea birds and a colony of seals. Learn to Horse ride or try Windsurfing on Porthmellon beach. If you want to explore St. Mary's a little bit further, you may want to consider renting a bike or even book a bike and have it waiting for you on your arrival. You'll be spoilt for choice with the variety of bikes and safety helmets for all ages, abilities and terrains. You can also hire bike trailers and tag-alongs if you have toddlers and small children to tow around. Buggy Hire is available on St. Mary's, taking the strain out of getting around the island. A golf buggy makes light work of all the sights and attractions, ensuring you can get around to see as much as possible. Please note they are not DDA compliant and age restrictions apply. Advance booking is advised. For Arts and Culture visit Phoenix Craft Workshops, a co-operative of seven local artist and craftspeople working on the little Business Park at Porthmellon. Work includes paintings, printmaking, leather work, stained & fused glass, jewellery and fabric painting and printing. There is a gallery of work by more local artists upstairs. Computer and printer available for public use, or free WiFi if you have your own phone or tablet. Classes for children & adults are also available.
