We had a great vacation with coffee on the porch in the mornings , lots of hiking during the days, and quiet evenings by the fire.

First the pro's: This property is exactly what we were looking for as a getaway. The hosts were very easy to communicate with in advance and even during our stay when we had questions. The cabin is true to its listing and then some and is well equipped with lots of kitchen items. The master bed was firm but comfortable. The hot tub, although a bit out of level, was perfect for ending the evenings in solitude. Only ONE neighbor within 100 yds and you can barely see that cabin through the trees. Amazing views of the Maggie Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains from the long front porch. Now the con's (at no fault of the property owners): First, the roads (either route you choose to take) that get you to the top of the mountain to the cabin are SCARY. While they are supposed to be two-way streets, in some places two cows wouldn't be able to pass each other going in different directions and, in fact, we had to back down a very long and steep portion until we could find the nearest driveway, in order to allow another vehicle to come down the hill. The roads are mostly straight uphill and winding with several blind switchbacks. Definitely NOT a trip for nighttime arrival for the first time. And don't be fooled by the asphalt paving on the lower portions. About 2/3 of the way up the mountain the asphalt disappears and the roads turn to rough gravel and there are several places where the roads have washouts or potholes. We were driving a Chevy Cruze and bottomed out in a few places. A higher-riding AWD or 4WD would definitely be a better choice for vehicle. In addition, the roads are VERY poorly marked with street signs and we found ourselves getting lost more than once while coming and going. Oh yeah, Google Maps only works for a short portion of the trip up the mountain before losing its mind so do NOT rely on Google. An actual physical map of the mountain streets would be a recommendation to be included with the reservations. Second con, Maggie Valley while beautiful, is small in amenities. Several very good local restaurants, several gas stations, NO fast food (which we didn't mind at all as we love to support local businesses), and NO grocery store (nearest is a Publix in Waynesville). Also, not much to do or see in Maggie itself. Again, the con's are NOT the fault of the hosts and overall our stay was very pleasant.

The pictures don’t even come close to doing this property justice. They view was amazing, cabin was great. The property owners were quick to respond. I will return if we are in the area again.

From the moment I had contact with the owners, to the last moments at the cabin, it was an incredibly unforgettable experience. The check-in process was very simple, the ride up is steep but doable and WORTH IT (definitely try to do this during the daylight hours at least the first time), the cabin was pristine and had everything we needed from towels to pots and pans, etc. The views were immaculate, you cannot beat it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, as we are definitely coming back here again! It was a great location in between the Smokies and Ashville.

We had a wonderful time staying in Maggie Valley in the cabin. The hot tub was great and we used it every night. The fireplace was a pleasure to use in the chilly mornings. And the view was spectacular--we really enjoyed eating our dinners on the front porch in the rocking chairs. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals. It is an easy drive to Asheville and we discovered the gem shop in Maggie Valley. Butts on the Creek has great BBQ. Eric was very easy to communicate with. I would agree that the road up is a challenge but it was worth it. I would love to stay here again some time in the future--it was a joy.

We absolutely loved the west-facing view of the front of the cabin. We enjoyed the sunsets, which we loved! The cabin was well cared for and has a hot tub, which was perfect for cool spring evenings. The directions provided were perfect.

Cabin very clean and view was super. We had a really good week, as did our Yorkie. We definitely would return. Host was very responsive. Drive up is something of an adventure!😳 But all good.

Excellent place to stay. The view was just as pictured. The drive up was a bit intimidating but well worth the trek.
