The Sidings

Cottage -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Wirksworth, Derbyshire, England
Comfy, contemporary and cosy, The Sidings is the perfect bijou hideaway in Wirksworth, on the edge of the Peak District. The cottage is small but has everything you need and the quirky town is just a lovely 10 min walk plus stunning walks, access to the National Bike Trail, an inde art deco cinema, restaurants and shops.
The Sidings is a recently converted property and is perfectly formed but don't expect a mansion!
Just a couple of words of warning- there is a sloping roof on one side of the bed which means you have to duck down to get in and out; the storage is limited but cleverly designed to optimise the space so leave those ball gowns at home! Wi fi can be a bit weak at times.

About the neighbourhood
Wirksworth is a real town with a real character and is the most incredibly friendly place. It is not full of second homes but thrives as a lively community. There is a real arty feel to the town and it has more than 150 practicing artists who live here, contributing to the annual arts festival that attracts more than 5000 people every September. You approach The Sidings down a normal suburban road and it is always a lovely surprise to people that the holiday accommodation is tucked at the end of it, on the edge of countryside, in a tranquil spot. It is a seven minute walk to town and you come out in the beautiful St Mary's Church Gate that takes people's breath away. Wirksworth is known as a hidden gem and it is a place that people fall in love with.
