About the neighbourhood
Besides wonderful walking and cycling in the great outdoors, local attractions include: The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu and the beautiful Palace House and gardens (2 miles); Exbury Gardens with its miniature steam train (5 miles); historic Buckler's Hard (3 miles) and coastal Lepe Country Park under 10 miles away. Days out to the Isle of Wight or the beautiful sandy beaches of Sandbanks are all within easy reach. Coastal Georgian market town Lymington (6 miles) is great for shopping and its all day Saturday market. There are plenty of great places to eat in the area to suit all budgets. There are also plenty of kids' attractions such as Longdown Activity Centre.
Getting around
Walking and cycling are great ways to get around. In summer the Beach Bus route runs conveniently past our house for great days out on a hop on hop off service. Otherwise the bus service is very infrequent so either your own car or a local taxi may also be required for some outings.

Airport: Southampton: 32.0 km
Railway: Brockenhurst: 9.0 km
Ferry: Lymington: 7.0 km
Easy to get to by car, but avoid driving through Lyndhurst. If coming from the M27 leave at jctn 2 and take the A326, then across the forest via Beaulieu.

Bournemouth and Southampton airports are both less than an hour's drive away, or take the train from Southampton Airport Parkway station which connects you to Brockenhurst Railway Station in less than 30 minutes.

Brockenhurst railway station is less than 15 minutes away by car or taxi (there are always taxis on the rank at the station). There are frequent services to and from London, Birmingham and Manchester.
