Our house is a large and well equipped Victorian town house arranged over four floors. The house sleeps up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms each bedroom has an en-suite or access to its own bathroom. The house on the ground floor offers a large dining room opening into a modern kitchen, a toilet and a separate family TV and games, which opens out to the rear garden. 1st floor offers a large and elegant sitting room (with covered verandah and sea views) and 2 king sized bedrooms both with en-suites. The top floor has 2 bedrooms one with a super king the other with twin beds. Please note, as this is a Grade 2 listed period house, it has not been possible to fit any stair-gates. As the house has 4 floors, that's a lot of steps!

Amazing stay for family birthday celebrations
Everything about the stay at sea view was amazing.. location perfect, house is stunning and immaculate. Our party consisted of 3 separate branches of family - house had plenty of communal spaces, incredible views and plenty of options to spend separately too… Would highly recommend and will be back again x

Nice property but in need of updating
Made the most of our stay over the Christmas holiday despite some issues with the property. We were notified a couple of days before our stay that the extractor fan for the main kitchen may not work. It didn't, neither did the basement kitchenette so cooking a Christmas dinner created lots of smoke in the property despite having windows open. There was a smell of sewage from the main en suite bedroom in the basement and plumbing issues with both first floor en suites. There is a missing spindle on the first floor staircase which could be dangerous for small children. All points were communicated during the stay to the owner, but have yet to receive a response. In general, the property would benefit from better maintenance.

Perfect
This is our second visit to this property. Perfect location and perfect for our group of 12 with ages ranging from 6 to 76 yrs old. Lovely to have a bathroom for each bedroom as most properties do not offer this . Facilities in the house are great including washing machines which came in handy for a weeks stay . Well equipped kitchen and lovely for all 12 of us to sit together at the huge dining room table with the fabulous sea views. We will be booking again ! Jacqui the owner is great and I’m quite puzzled by the reviews from a previous guest as I have had nothing but positive helpful communication with her . It’s been a difficult 18 months for everyone and just to kick back and relax and this fab house was the tonic we needed.

Dirty - would not recommend
Two things we agree with. The property is sea front and it is a period, spacious property. Unfortunately, those are the only two positives we can say. I have published below my feedback to the owner. Hi Jaqui. Before I leave a review I thought it fair to make you aware that we believe the house has a biting bug infestation. We have a number of bites between us and upon stripping the bedsheets we noted the mattress protectors were stained and show signs of eggs/larvae. Before we have been unable to pack our bags I have had to go to our local pet store and purchase a bug spray to use on our cases and all of our clothes (worn or not) now have to go through a hot wash. Whilst we understand a rental property has numerous people in and out, we were surprised at how dirty and stained the furniture in the dining room and living room upstairs were. The games room at the rear felt like it was crawling and we refused to use the downstairs flat as this also appeared unclean and smelt very badly. The furniture on the balcony was also unusable due to rust and dirt. The property fell way below the cleanliness and standards we expect for a £2k per week rental property. If this has been closed during lock down, we would suggest a deep clean is required. I understand this will be upsetting to read and this is not my intention, but to not mention our issues to you would be ignorant of us. In addition to the above, the garden was overgrown and unusable. The owner's response is basically denial. If you decide to book this property, do not expect too much!!

I will not be bribed by guests. There are very clear differences between a mosquito bite and bed bug bites. If there were bed bugs then there would have been a history of bites on the body (bed bugs bite in a very unusual format - quite different to the ones in the photos that I was sent). Also you would know after the first night if there were bugs in the bed and so if this really were the case then who would stay on the 2nd night let alone staying all week? Sending photos on day 8 of only single fresh bites is really more evidence that this was purely about cash. The reason this guest thought the games room was crawling is because this has an outside door and if you sit in there in the evening with the lights on at night then of course you will get bites. Night time flying insects are not controllable by owners - they will always be attracted to light. 99.9% of people arriving at a house and finding it dirty (to the extent of giving it 1*) would be straight on the phone to the booking agent or even the owner - this guest did not raise any of these concerns on arrival or during her stay despite us having a conversation very early on. The post stay email (now published) starts "before I write my review...." ? As my house was oversized for this guest (2 couples and 2 children) the price per head is double the cost that others pay per head however I do not consider this overspend to be refundable through this type of alarmist complaint. I have 40+ bookings per year in this property and the significant element of these guests are very happy and a great many do rebook. I receive a mix of 4 and 5 star reviews on this and the other holiday sites that I use. Sometime things are not perfect but where guests have faced genuine issues they always received personal responses and fair treatment.

Amazing rental by the sea for 50th Birthday
This beautiful seaside house was a fantastic find. We rented this house for my wife's 50th Birthday weekend for us and our guests, and we couldn't of been happier! Fantastic location, beautifully decorated, very spacious. Great kitchen with modern appliances, enough bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms to accommodate a full house! Owners were more than happy to help with any queries we had. Will be booking again.

Great location for a large group
We rented Sea View house for 12 people for a weekend. Plus a place for other friends and family to drop by and meet each other. The house easily accommodated 20 people for supper.in the large kitchen diner area. It also had 3 lounge areas which provided areas of escape for people. It's a lovely house with fantastic views across the bay. It was warm, clean well decorated and well equipped. The owner was helpful and responsive.

Perfect location and perfect size
We were a group of 10 friends celebrating a birthday by walking the coastal path from Margate to Ramsgate. House was warm and cosy and ideally set out to cater for our party of 10 fussy women. 5 minutes walk from the station and an leisurely stroll to the Turner and welcome cocktails in Sands Hotel.

Everything you need and more
We have just returned from staying in this amazing house, which we rented to celebrate my 60th birthday. The house is well equipped for everything, the kitchen is so well stocked. The bedrooms were very clean and comfy. The dining room is lovely with a view to die for (as does the upstairs balcony) especially at sunset. There is a lovely little quiet beach within minutes to walk to which we really enjoyed, especially in the morning and evenings. All of the Margate highlights...the Turner Contempory, the Old town, with all it's retro shops and Dreamland were in easy walking distance. We also would recommend 'The Harbour Arms' ( a lovely little micro pub with excellent locally brewed beers) and a restaurant further up the hill towards Cliftonville, called 'Roost', which offers apart from meat options, vegan and gluten free dishes as part of the menu. A wonderful stay...we're already talking about coming back for another visit.

Lovely property
This house is right on the seafront about a 10 minute walk along the front to Margate town centre where you will find the main beach, dreamland, the turner gallery, lots of restaurants and bars. There were 9 of us staying and there was plenty of room. Most rooms were en suite but if they weren't there were plenty of other bathrooms and toilets. It is a three storey house so quite a few stairs both up and down to the basement level which houses two bedrooms and an open plan kitchen, diner, living room. There is a nice main kitchen and dinning room on the ground floor and the main living room is on the first floor. Beds were comfortable, towels were provided along with a small grocery welcome pack. The kitchen was very well stocked and has a dishwasher. There is a small garden but not really somewhere I would want to spend time but this isn't a problem as you are literally on the seafront. Parking is on street but we all had no problem parking. I didn't book the proper so can't comment on the booking process but I would definately recommend the house for a group of friends or family. Would definately stay here again.

Excellent accommodation and location for our holiday.
The property was clean, spacious and fully equipped for our extended family holiday. It is ideally placed for the beach and the town. There were 11 of us staying - 6 adults and 5 children (aged between two-and-a-hallf and seven years) and there was plenty of room and things to occupy the children. The property is well kept and has an attentive owner who is very easy to communicate with. The house fulfilled all our needs for a truly happy and memorable holiday. It was a pleasure to rent and we hope to stay again.
