Cottage
Falstaff House is a fantastic Grade II late Georgian cottage in central Alnwick, a new addition to our other two Alnwick cottages, the very popular Peaseblossom House and Juliet Cottage. This beautiful cottage boasts two pretty bedrooms and two stylish bathrooms, a private patio, a gorgeous kitchen and a characterful living room with stove. The larger bedroom has a kingsize bed and it's own ensuite bathroom and the second bedroom has sweet twin beds with the family bathroom just along the short passage. The cottage has its original shutters and lots of other original quirky features. The beach is 4 miles away and the shops, tea rooms, cafes and pubs of Alnwick are less than 5 minutes on foot. Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Gardens and Barter Books are all within an easy ten minute walk. We had a great time. On arrival there was such a welcoming feel to the house and nice treats to enjoy. We are a couple and there was plenty of room. Our son came over to visit and insists on wanting to book the house for his family next time we visit Alnwick. It was a real home from home. Comfortable and warm with all the necessary creature comforts. It is well located and easy walking distance for all the main attractions. We hope to be back gain soon.

Fabulous location, spotless accommodation and well thought out. Lovely welcome hamper and essentials, such as, milk, water, coffee, tea, salt, pepper and a wide variety of cooking utensils and equipment. Thanks to Louise and her team for making our stay so enjoyable. Will be booking again.

The cottage was absolutely spotless and in a perfect location. We arrived in the evening and the lamps were on for us so it immediately felt cosy on arrival. A lovely welcome pack made us feel at home and the cottage had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Walking distance from town and the castle, and a great local pub just opposite. Highly recommended.

Just returned home from a fantastic weeks break at the cottage. From the minute we arrived we felt covid safe, so comfortable and right at home. The little touches from Louise and her team so welcoming. The decor and facilities were excellent everything we needed was catered for and more. We slept so well and relaxed so quickly it was just what we needed in these uncertain times. The location is fabulous only 5 minutes walk to a local Morrison’s and into town to visit all that Alnwick has to offer. The local beaches nearby so lovely to visit and enjoy. The help and advice that Louise sent to us meant we could decide where we wanted to go before we arrived, book local restaurants of our choice and attractions to visit and tours to book in advance so we didn’t miss out on things we wanted to see and do. Our walking tour around Holy Island was all we hoped for. You have an amazing place thank you, we certainly felt refreshed after staying here.

This is the second time we have used this cottage and would do so again in a heartbeat !!! About 20 yards from a super 'Hole in the Wall' Locals pub where we spent some really lovely times chatting with the locals and playing dominoes. The centre of Alnwick is 5 minutes walk and access to shops and lovely restaurants - Mumbai Spice for a curry the Thai restaurant is super (but Book) Fish and chip shop is superb. Alnmouth and local golf courses and attractions are easily accessable. Cottage itself is clean and comfortable and ideal for 2 couples. What else can I say 'SUPER' for a week in the north east - if you get to Newcastle go to TRAKOL under tyne bridge on the south side and have their feasting menu ...unbelievable !!

Had a great stay in Alnwick. Cottage is very clean, well equipped and 5 mins walk from the Main Street. Arrival pack left by owner was of high standard and appreciated. Very comfortable for a young family of 4. Would happily rent again.

Just arrived in Flagstaff House for a 3 night stay and were not expecting the lovely surprise behind the front door. Surprise 1 (S1) - lovely welcome letter with welcome box of prossecco, local beer, flavoured water, posh tea and perc coffee. S2 - enter the kitchen and another welcome platter of homemade oat biscuits and lemon drizzle cake, and milk in fridge for first cuppa. It just gets better as you stroll around the cottage. Loads of personal touches of quality products such as liquid soaps, gels, plenty of towels, extra blankets throughout, fresh flowers in various rooms, so much...! The cottage is really well equipped with so many items and extra bits like salts, peppers, fairy liquid, you name it Louise seems to have covered it. So much so you forget the super clean and comfy rooms and furniture to make your stay perfect. It has set us up so positively for our daughter's wedding we are so pleased. The shops are close with a Morrisons only a few hundred meters away as well as plenty of other amenities; there is a local pub (Inn) across the road which is discreetly located within the street. What a gem of a place and Credit to Louise and her Team. There are notices all over house informing you very politely the do's and don'ts, which I love and are very helpful to maintain this high standard. Simply Thank You Very Much.

Although this is our first night of a three night stay I already feel compelled to write a review. We are visiting Alnwick for our daughters wedding and chose Falstaff House for its central location. We could not have imagined a property with so much character and such a generous welcome. Not only were we greeted with a very personal card, a bottle I Prosecco, fresh flowers and coffee but we then found further welcome of hand tied cookies , cake and a beautifully appointed home with every comfort needed. A last surprise was fresh milk in the fridge. Such thoughtful and appreciated touches. We were able to park right opposite the house and we are looking forward to a cosy and comfortable stay.

This beautiful, quirky cottage in Alnwick is a real gem, close to local facilities, shops and restaurants and of course Alnwick castle and barter books, 4 ladies leaving the men and kids at home couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful welcome pack of cakes and fizz. I would certainly recommend this, local tourist information left by the owner, absolutely no reason to be bored in this area. Louise and her team have certainly got it right with this one. Thank you
