Wonderful location
Excellent apartment, well located in the centre of the town. Morpeth is a great base to visit Northumberland and has a direct 20 minute rail link to Newcastle.

Beautifully presented studio
This studio flat is in a very well renovated period building with all the old features preserved. It is extremely comfortable and well equipped with an excellent bathroom and good (adequately equipped) kitchen. The owner is very helpful and friendly and easy to contact should you need. Morpeth is a lovely town with good restaurants and a large supermaket. It is an excellent centre for walking in this lovely part of the world and visiting sights etc.

Full of Character
Very lovely apartment with so much character. Great for a ride in the car to Alnwick or a train ride to Newcastle. The kitchen facilities were amazing. Finally Jon Paul was a great communicator and made our first Airbnb experience very enjoyable.

Outstanding holiday rental flat
We stayed as we were attending a family wedding. The studio flat was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were perfect. The owner was very helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again.

Lovely apartment
We stayed in Jon-Paul's luxury dog-friendly apartment for 3 nights in May 2019. First off, you don't often get "luxury" and "dog-friendly" together, so this was a real find. It lived up to its name, with a high quality and tasteful interior, and we could close the bedroom door if need be to contain our two dogs in the tiled/laminated areas where the bathroom and kitchen were. This is where we put their dog beds, which are quite big but there was plenty of room for them. Morpeth itself is a pretty little town with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. From here we visited places on the coast, Holy Island is around 45 mins drive away, and there are dog-friendly beaches about 20 mins away by car. Druridge was a 7 mile stretch of pretty, natural beach where the dogs ran off some steam. There are plenty of dog friendly pubs including those serving food in the town. However the kitchen in this apartment is also well supplied if you want to cook (incl microwave). After 10 miles of walking on our second day in Morpeth, our dogs were tired out and so we decided to leave them, snoozing and in each other's company, in the apartment to eat out (we excluded them from the bedroom). The Italian restaurant just over the square and across the road was wonderful, the food delicious and perfectly cooked (expensive, but it was for a special occasion). Although we could have gone out each night with or without our dogs to the local pubs, we spent two of our nights in with some wine, because the apartment was so nice to chill out in. There's also a nice big TV that we could cast Netflix onto (via Now TV). Being a Yorkshire lass, I like to get my money's worth, and for a luxury apartment you pay luxury prices - so staying in with wine meant we could enjoy our surroundings rather than just sleeping there (which, if you do that, doesn't matter where you are, really). I did contact the owner a few times by text, mainly about parking/ directions/ key collection, and although we did not meet him personally he was very helpful and approachable, and replied quickly each time. I would happily stay here again and there are other locations for walking in nearby still to be discovered, aside from the coast.

Fabulous pet-friendly apartment
Have just spent a week at The Oldgate in Morpeth - first time away with our dog and were a little apprehensive but had a fab stay in a really high quality apartment. The owner Jean-paul met us and is a lovely friendly guy who clearly has a real passion for the renovation project he's undertaken in this charming listed building. His "Mam and Dad" were also on hand and were equally lovely folk. Gave the feeling that they all really wanted you to enjoy the stay. Prosecco on arrival was a nice touch! The apartment is tastefully decorated with exposed brick and stone work and lots of quirky contemporary features. High standard bathroom and kitchen. Well equipped. Right in town centre and a 100metre walk to the River Wansbeck with a nice walk and lovely views back across the town. The dog loved the stepping stones across the river. Morpeth is an attractive town with plenty of good quality shops eateries etc and makes a great base for visiting Northumberland. Could it be better-well they could have an infinity pool with a swim-up free bar but I think I'd forego them for the pleasure of staying here just as it is. Great Place - a real find!
