The cottage itself is warm and cosy with an open fire, night storage heating TV /DVD and free view and a fully fitted kitchen and is the available to let all year round. With spring is in the air and baby lambs in the fields where better place to come and recharge your batteries? Everything in the cottage is included in the price, so all you have to do is arrive and enjoy the wide open spaces of Northumberland's hills, valleys and beaches during the day and a cosy log fire, charming rural pubs and the massive gold tier international dark sky at night. As summer approaches with long days and balmy evenings where better to chill out? Away from the road, where it is safe for dogs and children to play, the cottage is part of the farm, has its own parking area and a large lawn – perfect for eating outdoors . Croft Cottage is a great place for the active. There are miles of walks in open countryside all teaming with wildlife; keep your eyes peeled for deer and red squirrels in the woods and forests, otters on the water side, badgers in the fields , king fishers by the rivers; the adjacent hill even boasts of a herd of wild goats! Yeavering is the perfect place to use as a base to explore this beautiful part of the country; ancient drovers' roads cover the countryside, Saxon burial sites are a little way from the cottage and of course just over the hill is Flodden Field, the site of the final battle on English soil. More recent history can also be found including WW2 “pill boxes” and the war graves in the local churchyard. It is a great place for cyclists too with on and off road places to ride with very little traffic. Sporting guests can bring their golf clubs and enjoy the many courses through out the area ; for those who would like riding Kimmerston riding centre is just up the road offering a range of riding activities from trail hunting to beach rides to exploring the countryside. Fishing too is an option with the River Glen running through the farm with both salmon and trout in the season. The fishing rights on the River Glen part of Yeavering Farm and available through separate negotiation to Croft Cottage. The autumn brings its own special attractions with the woodlands a blast of colours as the leaves turn from green to golds, reds and oranges. Take a short trip to the fabulous Northumberland coast line with its dramatic castles and peaceful deserted beaches. Explore Northumberland's vast array of castles - Alnwick home of the Percy family for hundreds of years and more recently to Harry Potter and Hogwarts, or try Chillingham along with its ghosts and the only herd of wild cattle in the UK. To the south you can find National Trust properties such as Cragside and Wallington Hall. Winter is special, bracing walks, cosy armchairs and sofas to curl up in along with your loved ones and a wee dram; experience a true get away from it all break yet just less than an hour's drive away from the fantastic nightlife and shopping facilities of both Newcastle upon Tyne and Edinburgh. Eat in with main super markets delivering your order right to the door and Wooler with its specialty food shops just ten minutes away. Or why not treat yourself to a night out with local hostelries providing excellently prepared meals with local and seasonal produce. In spring, summer, autumn and winter there is always a warm welcome for you at Croft Cottage. Experience the magical peace and quiet that so many of us have forgotten in our busy lives. As you approach the tiny hamlet of Yeavering you will start to relax; you can enjoy the tranquility of Yeavering for a short break as well as for a week or more – just ring and ask! More

As usual made very welcome. Rather chaotic due to taking an ill relative and dog, but we managed. The cottage is lovely and friendly and we enjoyed it yet again.
