During the months when whales are migrating they are often seen having a rest, feed and play in Pirates Bay. Species include Humpback and Southern Right whales and even Orcas. Due to the amazing views of the bay from the house whales can be spotted from the master bedroom and lounge room windows and from the deck! Whales migrate between May and July and September and November. Pirates Bay is a popular surf beach with several different breaks. These can also be seen from the house. The property has 2 good sized bedrooms, both with views of the beach and ocean. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and wall mounted smart tv. The second bedroom has a triple bunk bed ( double bed on bottom, single on top). There is a spacious lounge room with a wall mounted smart tv and beautifully appointed kitchen which is stocked with a selection of cereals, bread and condiments. About the neighbourhood
Eaglehawk Neck is located 90 mins from Hobart and offers a beautiful surf beach, many bush walks, fishing and whale watching opportunities. Most of the land within Eaglehawk Neck is within the Pirates Bay Coastal Reserve or a part of the Tasman National Park; in recognition of what it has to offer. The Parks and Wildlife Service of Tasmania manage these very special parts of our natural heritage. Eaglehawk Neck is, literally, a coastal community within or surrounded by a magnificent national park. On the other side of 'the Neck', at the end of Blowhole road, at the Blowhole, there is the famous ‘Doolishus’ food van that sells fresh-caught local fish, calamari, scallops & chips, crayfish and prawn rolls, homemade pies.
Getting around
Your own transport is a must on the Tasman Peninsula. There is no public transport available.
