All'interno di una tenuta di 200 ha. di boschi, campi, vigneti e oliveti si trova l'antico complesso di Villa Avanella, comprendente la tradizionale villa signorile di campagna, il tipico fienile toscano e, a circa 150 mt., 4 appartamenti ricavati dalle caratteristiche scuole rurali toscane. Appartamento Scuola 3 è un grazioso appartamento con ingresso privato, soggiorno/cucina con n. 1 un divano letto matrimoniale, 1 camera matrimoniale, 1 cameretta con letto a castello, 1 bagno con doccia, TV Sat. All'esterno degli edifici gli ospiti possono usufruire del giardino attrezzato, la piscina di mt. 10 x 20, è situata vicino alla Villa e al Fienile, di 2 barbecue in muratura e della lavanderia. Parcheggio privato. Internet free: area attrezzata nel giardino davanti alla Villa

Not quite as expected but a pleasant stay none the less.
We booked through holiday lettings. I would recommend looking on the main website if booking 1 or 2 bedroom apartments as it doesn't state on holiday lettings that these rooms are 1/4 mile down the hill form the main accommodation and pool which are in the pictures. Also no wifi is available at the smaller apartment. You can only get this around the main pool area. Also the smaller apartment are next to a road and lots of lorries going past early hours.
Once we had worked around the pool and wifi issue we got on with our holiday and drive up to the main pool and didn't let it bother us. Francesca was really helpful if you need to know where to park when you go on days out. The big cities were all within an hours journey so the location is ideal for this. If you don't want to cook then be prepared to drive as nothing is in walking distance but plenty of places to eat in Cetaldo and surrounding villages/towns. If you are looking to cook then most things are supplied but something that isn't and would be useful are oven gloves.
The main pool has a lovely view and some gazebo's so you can get sun or shade.
Last tip - take plenty of mosquito repellent. Depending on your apartment you may or may not have mosquito guards (although Francesca does supply a plug in repellent).
Overall we were happy with everything. Would definitely recommend the main accommodation for longer stays but the smaller accommodation seems to be used for people on shorter stays.

Petit appartement au calme dans un beau cadre et bien situé pour visiter la Toscane. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la grande piscine et l'accueil chaleureux.

Świetne miejsce w sercu Toskanii
Polecam Villa Avanella zlokalizowaną ok. 5 km od średniowiecznego miasteczka Certaldo. Na 20 hektarowej działce znajdują się 3 budynki z apartamentami o różnej wielkości oraz dwa baseny, małe boisko do piłki nożnej, gaj lipowy i droga obsadzona cyprysami.
Mieszkaliśmy (2 osoby dorosłe + 2 dzieci) w sporym dwupokojowym apartamencie Scuola 3 z w pełni wyposażoną kuchnią. Właścicielka - Francesca - to bardzo otwarta i pomocna osoba. Jej rodzina ma winnicę i produkuje wino Chianti Classico, które można kupić w bardzo przystępnej cenie :).
Z Villa Avanella jest blisko do San Gimignano, Florencji i Sieny. Do Pizy ok. 70 km. Blisko jest także nad morze (np. Baratti ok. 120 km., Rosignano ok. 80 km.). Naprawdę polecam
