No. 2 Swanfold is a Grade II listed stone cottage full of charm and character, with many original period features, set in a delightful cobbled courtyard in the historic conservation village of Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

Newly and lovingly refurbished to a high standard, the cottage comprises a fully equipped dining kitchen, beautiful lounge with stone fireplace and wood burning stove, double bedroom with king-size bed and feature window seat looking out over the village to the surrounding hills, twin bedroom with stone window seat looking into the cobbled 'fold', and newly refitted bathroom with slipper bath and separate shower cubicle.

Attractive stone cottage, part of former inn , located in secluded courtyard. Well lequipped and decorated whilst respecting the gravitas of the building. Bedding, linen etc all good. We would come again, preferably with better weather!

Heptonstall is approximately 1 mile and a 15 minute walk away from vibrant Hebden Bridge, which has been voted the “funkiest town in the UK”, with many independent shops, cafes and galleries. There is a frequent bus service to and from Hebden Bridge where there is also a train station, meaning a car is not essential when visiting the area. It is also possible to hire a narrow boat for the day to explore the surrounding waterways and there is an old cinema serving tea and scones in the interval, something for a less sunny day perhaps.

Directions: From Hebden Bridge town centre heading towards Todmorden follow signs to Heptonstall via the turning circle and turn left up the hill at the Fox & Goose pub. Take the first left turn, which is signposted to Heptonstall, continue onto the cobbles and Swanfold is located on the right hand side between the Cross Inn and the White Lion, behind tall double iron gates set back from the road.

There is no parking outside the cottage as the lane is very narrow, but it is usually possible to pull in to load/unload and there is a free car park approximately 100 yards away. This car park is located just after the cobbles start on entering the village, on the right hand side immediately before the Towngate Tea...
