About the neighbourhood
The cottages are situated less than 2 miles away from the sandy beaches which form St Austell bay, and are located within an easy drive of Newquay and the spectacular north coast, all of which offer many quiet coves, surfing beaches, fishing villages and the coastal footpath.Passing close by the cottages is the Saints Way (“forth an syns” in Cornish), a 26 mile trail which runs from Padstow to Fowey, through beautiful countryside, including the picturesque Luxulyan Valley, where you can see the Treffry Viaduct, (pictured). Along the route a wide variety of flora and fauna can be found. For those interested in our maritime heritage, the Shipwreck, Rescue and Heritage centre at the historic old port of Charlestown offers an insight into the perils of the sea.
