'The perfect weekend getaway. We had a lovely relaxing weekend, loved all the attention to detail, especially the fireplace and the gramophone! We also picked some rosemary from the garden to go with our dinner - thanks!' Karen & Johnny

'We were nearly speachless when we first entered the cottage. What a perfect little treasure box you have created, I'm sure that we have still not discovered all the history, information and wonders of this place. We will definitely have to come back for part two of our Settlers adventure'... Susann & Richard

The Settlers Cottage takes advantage of exclusive views of the mountains and vast Barrengarry Farmland and is designed to make you feel like you have stepped back in time to the days of the early settlers in Kangaroo Valley & Barrengarry - yet retains conveniences and comforts of modern living.
Just the one Queen bed with and open fire, makes this perfect for a couples romantic getaway! Enjoy the old world charm of unique fittings such as: Pull chain lights and toilet and an antique claw-foot bath, while still having some modern comforts in the Reverse cycle air conditioner and the TV. Enjoy a walk with the wildlife in the surrounding farmland, or just snuggle up in front of the fire with that special someone.
If you feel like going out, why not take a short stroll for one of the renowned local pies or take a swim in the river. If you enjoy venturing into the past then a visit the local Pioneer Museum is a must and only a short walk away. The small village of Kangaroo Valley is a 2 minute drive away and provides a variety of cafe's and the local pub for breakfast, lunch & dinner, or the general store can provide you with all you need if you prefer to cook yourself in the equipped kitchenette (no oven) and stay in your secluded hideaway.

A lovely cottage carefully built to reflect settler times. 2 rooms, open fire. Lovely attention to detail with many antiques (e.g., lovely old gramophone, photos, nick-nacks, pull chain lights, oil lamp) and good replica items. Well equipped kitchen. The fire was set for us and a bottle of red left out. Very welcoming! Lovely gardens. Shared laundry also contains antiques and the tiny shed adjoining it is a gorgeous little museum.
If you feel the cold, don't go in winter. It was chilly in the bedroom and bathroom in spring, even with the RC heater going. There were breakfast items in the fridge -- perhaps the only disappointment of the stay (4 eggs, 2 poppers and 2 fruit cups, no bread, jam etc).
