The cottage is located to the south of Dartmoor just one mile from the centre of the historic woollen town of Buckfastleigh with its quaint high street of shops, pubs and eateries. The cottage consists of a lounge/dining area with a high vaulted beamed ceiling, an oak floor and a mix of antique and contemporary furniture and tasteful soft furnishings. The Shaker style kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dish-washer and microwave, together with everything that you need to rustle up a meal. Downstairs, the contemporary shower-room, has a powerful shower and free-standing wash basin. Upstairs, the king-size bed nestles under the beamed ceiling and is complemented by antique pine furniture. Crisp cotton bed-linen and bathrobes add a touch of luxury here. There is gas fired central heating throughout. Outside, there is a small walled courtyard with views to the pond and is set within the 4 acre gardens and grounds of this former farmhouse. Whilst the cottage is attached to the owners AA '4Star Gold' trated Bed and Breakfast establishment, it is still very separate from the main house and the owners are very conscious of guests' privacy. Locally there are plenty of characterful pubs and restaurants serving great food - much of it locally sourced. Buckfastleigh with its quaint high street of shops, pubs and eateries is a pleasant 15 minute walk away. More

As we live next to the property we are usually here to welcome guests in the cottage and provide detailed information of places to visit/eat. We are always on hand to deal with any issues/offer advice as required. However, we are respectful of peoples privacy but are there should we be required.

We had a great week in Apple Loft cottage. It’s very cosy and well equipped, plus the garden is lovely to sit out in when the weather allows. Location is good too, with easy access to the coast and Dartmoor. Would highly recommended.

Buckfastleigh is situated mid way between Exeter and Plymouth on the south side of the Dartmoor National Park. It sits just of the A38 at one of the main entrance routes to the South Hams area of South Devon. Getting around
The best way to see the area is by car. There is restricted public transport in to Dartmoor. You can travel in to Totnes by steam railway or to Dartmouth by boat. A regular bus runs from Buckfastleigh to Totnes where you can connect with other buses to travel further afield.
