Quiet country location.

Very nice property in a peaceful country setting in good location for accessing intriguing sites in this area. We also enjoyed observing the cows and hiking to the old Norman fort in an adjoining pasture.

Truly a home from home, excellent!

Excellent accommodation, great location

Very well appointed accommodation, extremely comfortable stay and a very hospitable host. Welcome pack was great. This location is ideal for touring both Belfast and the northern coastal region. Would highly recommend. Thanks so much Gladys.

Great base for visiting the attractions in the "north" of Northern Ireland.

Lovely cottage annex with excellent facilities but you might need a Sat Nav. It was a perfect place to base ourselves for visiting places as far apart as Londonderry and Belfast and the attractions on the Coastal Route between. Gladys was lovely and very helpful...More

About the neighbourhood
The beautiful village of Broughshane which was crowned the 'UK's Village of the Year 2018' is only 5 miles away from Slemish View. They have also won numerous awards for their vibrant floral displays which can be found decorating every corner, especially in spring and summer. There is a beautiful river walk at The Buttermilk Bridge Path, play area and a water fowl and pet animal enclosure. A great day out for kids and its all free!!! Lots of coffee shops, restaurants and even an ice cream parlour. Slemish Mountain lies just outside the village and is a popular spot among hikers. The mountain also served as a Game of Thrones filming location. The village and surrounding area are well worth a visit.
Getting around
Slemish View is 3 miles from Ballymena. Public transport is poor near our home so you really require your own transport. Taxis are available and you will find telephone numbers for these in Slemish View information folder. There is a bus depot and train station in Ballymena. Trains offer excellent service to Belfast, Portadown, Dublin in the southerly direction and to Ballymoney, Coleraine, Portrush, Londonderry in the northerly direction.
