An ideal base to explore Orkney's natural and cultural heritage.

Great wee house and an awesome welcome pack for your arrival with a lovely card to say hi from our host.
Amazing kitchen - hope you like coffee as there is an array of coffees!! The kitchen has everything you need.
The bathroom - the shower is wonderful with under floor heating and heated towel rack.
The livingroom has a very comfy couch.
The bedroom - it’s two single beds pushed together with individual duvets so at least you’re not fighting over who has it!!
Great base for exploring the mainland - 20 mins from Kirkwall and 40 from St Margaret’s Hope.

Lovely cottage that had everything I wanted
Probably the best equipped holiday in cottage I've ever stayed in. Really clean and spacious with all mod cons. The position is perfect for exploring Orkney and incredibly peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Impossible to Fault
This is just the perfect place to stay on Orkney Mainland.
Brilliantly laid out accommodation for two, provided to an exceptional standard and superbly convenient for the UNESCO sites and for Stromness. Lovely views over Hoy to round it off.

Cozy, comfy, great location
Comfortable, well equipped, quiet, spacious one bedroom cottage just a few minutes drive from Stromness. About 22-25 minutes, easy drive to Kirkwall or airport. This cozy place exceeded expectations and was a very welcome retreat after a busy day of festival doings or sightseeing. It is built with modern energy efficient standards and has the best shower I have ever experienced. The kitchen is well stocked, there is plenty of closet space in bedroom and we were delighted to find 2 USB ports for our devices so that we did not need to use a converter. There is a walk to the water but there is still a lovely view from the cottage up on the hill. No hesitation in booking 2 Aglath again for future visits.

A wonderful accessible cottage
Wow - this gorgeous cottage far exceeded our expectations. Timely welcome messages and everything set out perfectly!
So many wee personal finishing touches that made the stay so comfortable.
Easy to navigate around. Location is so central to all the main visitor areas. Only 8 minutes from the stromness ferry.
Loads of local information supplied. Including visiting guides. Co-op in stromness close by.
Everything was super comfortable. Loved the fire in particular, really cosy at night.
My husband has mobility issues and was very able to get around this one storey cottage and the owners helpfully supplied a shower chair.
Fabulous views out front also x we 100% loved every second of our stay xxxx

What a gem.
What a gem, a lovely cosy cottage fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. Lovely views across to Hoy. Easy access from the ferry at Stromness and ideally placed for visiting Orkney’s amazing sights. Only 25 mins from Kirkwall. Highly recommend this cottage. A real find.

Great property
2 Aglath is a spacious, bright, modern, warm, well equipped letting with a great view to the hills of Hoy. It is in a quiet spot about a mile off the Kirkwall to Stromness road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return or recommend to friends.

Kind hosts
A lovely, clean house. Kind and considerate hosts who left essentials for us including wine. The house is in a fantastic position for exploring Mainland Orkney on which there was so much to do, the four days we gave it were not enough. Some might rue the absence of a bath, but the shower is very good.

Fabulous Cottage
This is just a wonderful cottage. It has everything you need. Is spotlessly clean and tidy. Just a great location over looking the bay. Super location for getting about Orkney. I would recommend this cottage absolutely wonderful. 😀😀😀

Peaceful and scenic location close to Stromness. The house is well designed - cosy and comfortable and when the sun shines the views over The Bay of Ireland are stunning.
The standard of cleaniness and fittings are first rate. We would thoroughly recommend.
