Balnain cottage has a private Lochan and enjoys fabulous views from every room and is set in well maintained, landscaped gardens which are a key feature of the property. A variety of peaceful seating areas are dotted around the garden to allow guests to enjoy the wealth of interesting views. A small sheltered seating area overlooks a unique lochan which is a focal feature within the private enclosed garden. There are a wide variety of activities and places of interest within a short drive, including the spectacular Rogie Falls, the charming Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer and the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool. There are many wonderful walks and cycle tracks, and for the more adventurous, Ben Wyvis one of the easier Munros to climb, is a 5 minute drive away. The Cottage is located in Tarvie which is 5 Miles From the Victorian Spa Town of Strathpeffer. Strathpeffer lies in a glen 5 miles west of Dingwall, with varying elevation from 200 to 400 feet above sea level.

Because of its location in the heart of the Highlands, Strathpeffer has remained a popular visitor attraction and a good base for touring the Highlands. Many walks and activities in the surrounding area.
