Ailsa House is a very well presented, high specification, comfortable place to spend time by the seaside in Girvan. The location is ideal, being just a few yards from the local shops and a short walk from the beach. The house itself is exactly as presented in the photos, with high quality furnishings and fittings. It was large enough for...

We spent a wonderful few days in Girvan enjoying lovely walks on the beach, golf and walked from Ardlochan to Culzean, as always enjoying the fantastic views. The house was very comfortable with all the little extras in the kitchen & bathroom a welcome addition. Our evening drink was enjoyed in the bijou patio before wonderful dinners at Woodlands Bay...

Luxuriously appointed with beautiful furnishings and everything we could have wanted for our stay. Much cheaper than staying in an hotel or B&B even though everything in the house is obviously high end. Lovely break in a lovely place.

About the neighbourhood
Girvan is an ideal spot for a wonderful vacation situated midway from Glasgow to Cairnryan. Glasgow is the 'jumping off spot' for many tours you can take to the highlands (talk to me about those I've taken.) While in the picturesque town of Cairnryan you can take the ferry to Ireland and enjoy historical Belfast. All this and be back in Girvan for dinner.
PS. While in Belfast there are many coach day tours available and the shopping is amazing!
Getting around
You can virtually walk to everything in the town. The train station is about a 7 minute walk from Ailsa House and the trains can take you anywhere in Scotland in pretty short order.
Buses to Ayr leave every half hour during the day until 11pm at night.
Taxi's are also available to go to Turnberry or anywhere of your choice. The phone #'s are all in the house in the 'Important Numbers' binder for guests.
