Cottage
Once the old dance hall for the village, and scene of plenty of dancing, the cottage has also been a home for shepherds working on the farm. Richard Perry lived here while writing 'I Went A Shepherding' in the 1940s. Thoroughly updated, it still allows some of the layers of history to shine through. A maximum of 2 dogs can stay at the Cottage. Please be aware we have cats and chickens loose around the Farm. Please do not leave animals alone in the property.

September long weekend

About the neighbourhood
We are an easy walk down into the pretty village of Kyleakin with pubs, food, cafes, boat trips and a castle. Old Kyle Farm is right near the famous Isle of Skye Bridge, meaning easy access to both Skye and the mainland. We have excellent local walks with stunning views right up behind the house. Bring your walking boots. The Island is a lot bigger than a lot of people expect and a couple of days will barely get you started on the amazing sights and activities. The most famous attractions within reach are the spectacular Cuillins, the Quiraing, the Old Man of Storr, Dunvegan Castle, Kilt Rock, Eilean Donan Castle, Elgol boat tours to Loch Cuirisk, Talisker Distillery, Plockton Village, Applecross' famous mountain pass and so much more.
Getting around
Although a car makes your trip easier, it is possible to enjoy Skye without. You can get to us on the train to Kyle of Lochalsh and walk over the amazing Skye Bridge. There are bus services across the Island and some of our visitors have enjoyed some of the best sites on Skye without driving. There are also local tours that do day trips to all of the major sites and can be booked in advance. Do please research in advance though as public transport does take more thought.
