Beautiful location and cottage.
We stopped here in August 2021, with a group of 7 and our dog. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the surrounding views were spectacular. Being right on the sea front gave us easy access for dog walking etc. Our only, very slight point, would be that the living area could be a bit bigger for a larger group, but we thought that the whole package was great value for money.

Shop Around For Prices when Booking This House
Before you book- look up this house on local web sites otherwise you will be over-charged by hundreds. Stunning, rural, wild and unblemished. Plenty of hill walks. Access the bay the house is in by driving round to he other side for access. From house, 5 minute walk into the next bay where you can hunt the dinosaur footprint which if not found, can be seen in replica at the local museum. Staffin museum recommended. Drive carefully-sheep crafting community. Friendly and lovely people live locally. This is a place to slow down your pace of life and enjoy the changing weather, plenty of rain and awesome landscape. Thank you to the lovely housekeeper.

Astounding Island and fab spacious and immaculately clean home to stay in.
Before we arrived I was thinking would there be enough to keep us busy - The answer was a definite yes! The accommodation was excellent, so clean and more than you could need was provided. I came here with family and would happily come back with friends too. THANK YOU

Large cottage, child & pet friendly in lovely location
Loved this place. Had lots of room and is actually bigger than it looks in the photos. Pet and child friendly it was ideal for our group of 4 adults, 4 kids and a dog. There was lots of space upstairs for the kids to break up into little huddles to watch age appropriate movies on their pads whilst the adults were able to watch tv downstairs. We could all get round the table for breakfast and there was tons of storage space with the extra utility room and large storage cupboards downstairs and up. The shared garden proved a hit with the boys and we enjoyed an easter egg hunt one morning. Only a short walk to the beach it was fab for morning/evening strolls with the dog. In a great location for us as we wanted to launch the boat and there is a slipway just half a mile away. There isn't an awful lot in Staffin itself but we travelled around the island every day (despite the weather not being kind) so got to see some stunning scenery and wildlife. It's very close to the Kilt falls and Old Man of Storr. Would also recommend a trip to The Stein Inn further up the island. I would book again without hesitation.

February in Skye
I booked a trip to Skye in February with some trepidation but the weather was great. Well equipped cottage, superbly located near The Quiraing and within touching distance of the Cuillin Ridge and rest of the island. Clean and tidy with spacious bedrooms, kitchen and reception/eating area. Would recommend both cottage and Skye.

Wow!
Excellent house - immediately feels like home. Very clean and tidy, and great views. Walking possible from back door and very good location on Skye itself. There was so much we couldn't do due to only having a week! Thank you!!!

Feels at home
The cottage is the great place and comfortably accommodate 8 of us. The open concept of kitchen and living room gives ample spaces for us especially during meal time and our 3 toddlers really enjoy themselves running and playing around the house. The bedroom is really comfortable and we have a really good night sleep. The house is complete with kitchenware& bakeware, oven& microwave and the dryer and washing machine provided was very helpful during our stay. With its great location, walking distance to Staffin bay, we can view the stunning sunset at Staffin bay.

About the neighbourhood
Originally named Kiltarigan, Port-righe – meaning King’s Port in Gaelic – was renamed after a visit by King George V. Situated in a natural harbour, Portree is a delightful haven for visiting yachts and cruise ships which return year after year. On a summer’s evening you can watch the local fishermen landing their catch. Boat trips leave regularly from the bustling harbour. You can try deep sea fishing or go for a leisurely cruise around the neighboring Island of Raasay. There are many fine seafood restaurants to be found in and around Portree. After a delicious meal why not take a stroll to the village square where The Isle of Skye Pipe Band regularly play on summer evenings. Street fayres are held in the summer months providing fun and games for all the family. The island’s swimming pool offers regular fun days which the children will love. Local cycle hire is also available. There is a superb children’s playground at the Aros Experience – visitors will also enjoy the exhibition telling the full story of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s famed visit to Skye. The less energetic can while away the hours watching the local shinty team entertaining the crowd at their home park – Parc na Loch. For many people Portnalong/ Carbost this is the most inspirational area of the island. The awe inspiring scenery provided by the magnificent Cuillins has attracted countless visitors for over a century. Climbers, walkers, artists and photographers are drawn by the wonderful panoramic views and the challenge to either capture images or conquer the mighty peaks and ridges. You can watch the local fishermen landing their catches at nearby Carbost and Portnalong. This area enjoys a good selection of pubs and restaurants and children are well catered for.
