Ronaldsay is a recently refurbished log cabin sitting high in the private Seaview Grazings estate, Strontian, with stunning views down Loch Sunart. The area around Strontian is an outdoors-lovers paradise, with beautiful beaches and numerous walks. The cabin sits on a private site, with no other cabins overlooking it. The nearest pub and shop are a 5 min walk, with the village centre being another 5 min along the road.
Ronaldsay features extensive living space, with two separate sitting areas each with WiFi and large flat-screen TVs. Each TV has both Freesat installed and internet capability for all standard catch-up services (BBC iPlayer etc). Ronaldsay features extensive living space, with two separate sitting areas each with WiFi and large flat-screen TVs. Each TV has both Freesat installed and internet capability for all standard catch-up services (BBC iPlayer etc). The main lounge has a wood burning stove with beautiful views over Loch Sunart to the mountains, while to the rear there is an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. The rear room also has a fantastic view south through large french doors over the loch and mountains.
There are three bedrooms with the main bedroom (double bed) having views down the length of the loch. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, again with superb views to the south, and the smallest bedroom has a single bed.
The kitchen is well equipped, having a dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a separate utility room in the rear extension, keeping the noise well away from the living areas. Another convenience is the two toilets, one in the main cabin (with shower) and the second in the extension. Hot water is provided through a thermal store, giving mains-pressure showers.
There are two decks, one each at the front and the rear.
The cabin has been refurbished to a high standard, both internally and externally. It has been fully insulated and re-clad externally, making it very cosy in the winter. It has also been re-roofed, again with good insulation levels, and two large roof windows have been installed, filling the rooms with plenty of natural light.
NOTE: Ronaldsay sits on an elevated site on a fairly steep hill. This means that there are risks around the garden for small children, who would have to be kept closely supervised.More
Being located on a steep hill means that young children will require supervision as there are various places in the garden and around the decking where they could fall.
Lovely cabin with great views in a good location for exploring Ardnamurchan, Morvern and Moidart. Lots of wildlife watching opportunities and outdoor activities nearby.
Ronaldsway is a well presented and equipped lodge in a good position with superb views across the loch and well positioned to tour the area, Mull and Skye. My only reservation is the bombsite excavation to the right of the site access and the condition...More

Hi John - I have to say your comments are rather unfair and give a false impression of Ronaldsay's location and general surroundings. Firstly, you should have made clear that the "bombsite" you refer to is at least 300m from Ronaldsay, cannot be seen from...More
