Ty Clyd used to be the stables of Brynygwin country house 1 walkable mile from the historic market town of Dolgellau. All built in natural Welsh stone and listed as being of special architectural interest, It stands in the house's spacious and colourful grounds, has a small walled garden of its own and is on the edge of 15 acres of woodland into which you are invited by a path near its front door. The two upper bedrooms (single and double) used to be the hayloft - hence the outside stone stairway which is now just an emergency fire-escape. The twin-bedded room on the ground floor was a spacious tool-room and looks inland over Dolgellau to the Aran mountains.

Stayed at Tyn Clyd, flat 2, last week, we're outdoorsy people (horse riders and mountain bikers) and had a dog with us so don't want immaculate accommodation but this was more dirty and derelict than we wanted, I could imagine more discerning visitors may refuse...More

Set in it's own grounds, lovely walks for our dogs. Charming host. Ideal base for exploring. Easy walking distance into Dolgellau. Could do with a little updating but we would happily live here!
