We absolutely loved our stay at The Snug! It was such a beautiful place and the accommodation itself was so 'snug' and regal...I would recommend it to any couples looking for a good stay! I've had to knock a star off as there was a timer plug which ticked on all through the night and you could often hear people walking about in the main house upstairs but apart from that it was brill. A solid 9/10!

Very comfortable little apartment situated a few minutes walk from Dolgellau town centre. The owner was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The kitchen is well equipped for drinks and light snacks, but not really suited to cooking larger meals. However, that isn't a problem, since there are many good places to eat in the town. The location is well suited to walking and exploring Snowdonia.

The Snug in Dolgellau is situated perfectly for walking and climbing in this beautiful part of Southern Snowdonia. And after our long energetic days in the hills the excellent rain shower was a tonic. The Snug is extremely well equipped, very comfy, and delightfully furnished. Some special extras too! We stayed six nights and only ate out in the town twice as the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our evening meals. We ate at the Spanish Bistro, Tafarn-y-Gader, and the Indian restaurant just down the road, the other two evenings. Both excellent. A perfect place for a couple!

We were comfortable, warm and cosy in the Snowdonia Snug, despite the cold weather this May. Adele made us feel very welcome and was always on hand if we needed anything. The Snug was traditionally furnished and spotlessly clean, the bed comfy, the shower good and all the appliances worked well. It is very handy for Dolgellau town (downhill into town and uphill coming back!) and there are ample eateries and nice pubs there. The kitchenette is fine for a simple breakfast, with a kettle, fridge, toaster, microwave and portable electric ring but there isn’t an oven and, although there is a washing machine, it could do with a drying rack I think. Overall reasonable value for money I think.

Spotlessly clean with absolutely everything we could need for our 3 night stay We Booked this because of all the great reviews and so glad we did... Lovely comfy sofa and a compact but comfortable bed.Seperate fully equipped kitchen that we used several times that had every appliance you could imagine, including washing machine. complimentary tea, coffee, sugar etc and they also left us a tasty welsh treat We had our own private outside patio area and a parking space Ideally Situated 5 mins walk from the town centre, our hosts recommended several bars and restaurants, and gave us hints and tips on walks and places to see This is a great place to stay and great value for money,we loved it and will defiantly return

We had a lovely stay here, although our trip was cut short due to the bad wether we still had a lovely time. Plenty of things to see and do and a beautiful place to wake up to. The only downside was all the banging and footsteps we could hear coming from upstairs. Other than that everything was immaculate and clean.

A cosy room with all the facilities needed for a stay in the southern part of Snowdonia. Everything you’d hope for including comfy bed, tv, DVD player, microwave, fridge and an excellent shower. The washing machine is a great little touch to deal with wet and muddy walking/riding/running gear. The snug is well situated close (but not too close) to the centre of Dolgellau which has some good pubs and places to eat. Dolgellau is a great base to use to explore the area. Llanberis is just an hour and 15 minute drive away but there is plenty to do much closer including the Precipice Walk, Cader Idris and run/cycle the Mawddach trail. We had a very enjoyable week here.

Booked the Snowdonia Snug as we were running at Coed y Brenin and wanted a base which was comfortable and easy. The Snug was great value for money. The kitchen is small and not suitable for cooking meals - this was fine for us we were happy going to the pub for tea! It was warm, good to be able to park. Communication with the owner was excellent.

About the neighbourhood
An area of outstanding beauty! . . . surrounded by rolling mountains, lakes, valleys, beaches, castles, forestries, waterfalls and panoramic walks. There really is something here for everyone.
Getting around
A car is recommended for greater coverage of this beautiful area of Wales. A few minutes stroll into the quaint market town where award winning eateries, cafes, bars & tea-rooms are in abundance & highly recommended. A busy bus service runs from the square to all surrounding areas and also a taxi service. Main train services run from Barmouth & Machynlleth. Bicycles can be hired from the town centre for a beautiful & scenic cycle along the estuary. The popular Mawddach Trail is a flat 9 miles to the harbour town of Barmouth,!with its sandy beach, dunes & fish’n chips, a great day out . . (Walk, cycle or run)
