Interaction with guestsThe owner is available on arrival to show guests around and to give the keys . We live in a neighbouring property about 70 metres away but the chalet grounds which are private and separate from the main house .From the chalet site guests have uninterrupted views of the Cader Idris mountain range to the south and west . The other directions are woodland . The owners are available to deal with any on site problems but otherwise maintain a low profile and allow guests to enjoy this very special place for themselves .

Relaxing getaway.
We needed a short, quiet, relaxing getaway from our busy renovation project, and this is exactly what we found. Just the sound of birds and the wind through the trees and stunning scenery. Our dog had an equally good time having freedom to run, joined by the owners dogs, so no concerns if you are bringing your dog, guaranteed they won't want to go home. An area of Wales spectacular for its green and soft scenery and an abundance of forests and woodlands in comparison to the rugged areas of North Wales. Thank you Richard and your wife for letting us share part of your home.

What a great location!
What a great location! We loved our stay at Chalet Ty Cerrig. Outstanding views to the South and the chalet was banked by mature trees, with walks on the doorstep. Richard and Louise were great hosts and gave us tips about places to see and visit as well as providing a portfolio with over 20 walks. Lots to do and see and we would strongly recommend the location for a great relaxing and varied holiday.

... because 5 stars are not enough. The photos show the stunning views, but sunrise and sunset are even more spectacular, not forgetting to mention the stars on view at night-time. Chalet Ty Cerrig has been so thoughtfully and cleverly designed and built. There is a natural spring just above and to the side of the chalet, and they have created a series of waterways and ponds for the water to run down, flanked by gorgeous rockeries, and with subtle solar-powered lighting to accentuate the features at night without creating a load of light pollution. The fire pit was fun and great for baking potatoes. The covered area at the side is perfectly sheltered in the case of inclement weather, and the glass doors at the front of the chalet can be flung wide open to welcome warm weather. There are lots of areas to sit and enjoy and the view - the hard part is deciding which one to use at any given time - and you can ramble in the attached woods (bluebells just coming out as we were there) or amuse yourself by watching the lambs playing in the adjacent field. For birdwatchers, there are finches, tits, song thrushes, wheatears (no, me neither), woodpeckers, buzzards, kites and goshawks. Richard and Luned are perfect hosts: friendly and approachable, but never encroaching. We had a lovely welcome package of Welsh products: milk, butter, tea, crisps, and the most delectable home-baked Welsh cakes you've ever tasted. Skye and Thorn - their dogs - are also perfect hosts, and our hound adored playing with young Skye the Labradoodle, and having a bit of a sniff-about with Thorn, a noble Labrador of a certain age. There's a folder of walks available for the nearby area, which were incredibly beautiful, as well as information on nearby restaurants and pubs. The George III is very dog-friendly.

Beautiful chalet
The chalet was perfect! Cosy, clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and having barbecues in the evenings. Stunning views and the forest walk was lovely. In a great location as it was so peaceful but less than 10 mins drive to the local shops and village. Richard and Luned were so kind and welcoming and even left some firewood for us. Our dog loved running around the garden with lovely Skye and Thorn. Would recommend to anyone and would love to come back!!

Calm place in great scenerie
This place is perfect if you want to take a break from the busy life and just calm down within a beautiful scenerie, surronded by sheeps and trees. The veranda is great to enjoy the fresh air. The area around the chalet you can use for BBQ etc. is huge. You can easily leave your car at home for a day or more and just start walking from the chalet right away. The kitchen interior is super cute and the bed was very comfy.

What a Beautiful Place
Wow, what a stunning location! We had an amazing 6 night stay and really didn't want to leave. Set in the most peaceful and serene countryside that you could ever imagine, yet just 5 minutes drive from the nearest well stocked shops and a 20 minute drive to the beach. The mountain biking mecca that is Coed y Brenin is just 20 minutes away too. The garden is stunning, with beautiful views whichever way you look. It's also visited regularly by deer. The lodge itself is basic, but equipped with everything you need. Richard met us upon arrival, and was at hand whenever we needed him for advice about the local area. We can't wait to get back there again sometime in the near future, it really was a little slice of heaven for us.

Wonderful little chalet with stunning views
We were delighted with our stay at this chalet. The area is beautiful and the land the chalet sits on is well maintained with a pond, firepit, the ruins of an old stone building, all surrounded by forest; it really makes the experience magical. Useful information was provided in folders about local attractions and restaurants, which made it easy to choose what to do, as well as helpful tips and information about the chalet itself. The owners were lovely and helpful and the chalet was clean and tidy. The chalet was easy to find and accessible with a quick call to Richard, the owner. Thank you for our stay.
