Spent a great weekend at this lovely, well equipped holiday home. Perfect location, close to some fantastic walks with the most beautiful scenery and some great places to eat and drink. Very relaxing place to visit, just what we needed - thank you to the lovely hosts :)

It is such a comfortable and cozy place to stay. We actually decided to double our visit, and we were glad it was still available. So much better than just a bedroom and a bathroom. Two floors allowed the two of us plenty of room to spread out, enjoy the nice living room, and cook our own meals. The little shop was close enough to buy whatever supplies were needed, and I visited there often.

We picked the worst weekend of the winter to visit the area but we were wonderfully comfortable and snug in Penybont Barn. It has everything you need for a holiday and, although we couldn't use it, a lovely garden area to sit and relax. Really well equipped kitchen, very warm bedding, powerful hot shower and comfortable lounge. Everywhere was clean and tidy with no evidence of any previous guests with a dog. It was good to have tea, coffee, salt, pepper and oil to hand if needed. Will be very popular I am sure.

About the neighbourhood
Llangorse is an amazing village - quiet and quaint but also welcoming and at times buzzing with local activity. There are three pubs in very short walking distance, two in the village and one by the lake, all serving food and each with a quite distinct ambience. Nearby Llangorse lake (15 minutes walk) is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Penybont Barn is ideally located to explore the Brecon Beacons by bike, on foot or by car.
Getting around
Many walks and bike rides start form the village, such as Mynydd Llangorse, Mynydd Troed and the Allt yr Esgair. The central range of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains are in easy reach. To the west of Llangorse the market town of Brecon is only six miles away, it has three main supermarkets and many local shops. On the way to Brecon you can find the picturesque Monmouthsire and Brecon Canal with its aqueduct and the opportunity of a gentle stroll or bike ride to many pubs and villages. Only four miles to the north you'll find the village of Talgarth with its local shops and the restored water mill. The world famous 'book town' of Hay-on-Wye is only 12 miles from Llangorse with an easy bike ride through the countriside.
