We take pride in cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing this secluded beauty. Rest assured, as you release your anxieties to the roll of the river a few yards away. Located on the Little River, where it winds its way out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, 'Evergreen on the River' is surrounded by mountain laurels, towering Hemlocks and other greenery and has a secluded feel, even though it is just a mile from Townsend. During the day, you can roam around the woods or dip your toes in the river, or you may decide to drive up Wear's Valley to Pigeon Forge for some shows or shopping. If you prefer, take the 'river road' up to the Sugarland's Visitors Center and turn left for Gatlinburg or right to go to Newfound Gap and beyond. Evenings can be spent sitting on the deck or in front of the fire pit with your beverage of choice and perhaps enjoying a romantic interlude at your cozy, comfortable log cabin in the woods. More

This was the best mountain stay we have ever had! The cabin was adorable, immaculate, and well-equipped. It was also secluded and off the beaten path, yet minutes from town. As perfect as all that was, the best part was the river. From the giant,...More

Entering or leaving GSMNP from Townsend by road, you can glimpse the stairway from Little River to "Evergreen" and, within a day, my wife and I referred to it as the "Stairway to Heaven". When we got to the cabin, my wife's first comment was,...More

We really enjoyed our stay at Evergreen. The river is serene and peaceful. The location was very convenient at Smokey Mountain entrance. Billie was a pleasure to work with. We would certainly return any time as it felt like home.

About the neighbourhood
Within walking distance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park boundary line and only seven miles to historic Cades Cove, ours are seven of the closest cabins. Travel the 'river road' to Gatlinburg, Newfound Gap, Ober Gatlinburg or even Harrahs Cherokee Casino, if you're feeling froggy. Townsend, 'The Peaceful Side of the Smokies', has a great bike/walking trail that stretches nearly three miles long and it's lighted at night for your convenience. Hike, bike, spelunk, horseback ride, visit Heritage Museum and you simply must tube down the Little River on a hot summer day. OR ... just stay on the beautiful river bank and dangle your feet in the cool, clean water! Ahhhh!
Getting around
A car is recommended (don't laugh, we have folks who don't drive : ) We do not have a city bus route, etc. The only other way of travel is by tube .. lol! Of course, you'll need that car to get to the tubing shuttle.
