This area is Well know for the arheological side (Poseidon Temple.444 BC) very popoular, all the visitors ,to Athens they will go to the Temple . Sun set at the Temple is something very bewtifoul It is a very picturesque area,with more activity in the summer months,due to the beach as well, and the summer homes being. Population in winter is very small.Parking for boats is available next to Charakas beach and two beach-bars operate in the summer months(end May-end September),with umbrellas,sun-beds etc.
Getting around
The best way to go around is to rent a car. Also the Athens /Sounio bus is all year going through from the center of Athens, and the name you ask the driver for tickets is Charakas (bus Stop 6 euro). From this bus Stop you walk 5 minutes to Sandra's Sea View at Sounio. To go from this bus Stop to the Temple of Poseidon is the same bus, takes only 15 minutes
