It's a terrific home for families and friends who want to spend time together but also cherish their privacy. Winter Brings Awesome Snow, Skiing The snow is thick and the winters are cold -- perfect for skiing! With nine ski areas within 40 miles, you have plenty to choose from. In other seasons the mountains are the greenest of green and a string of pristine lakes is the bluest of blue. The fish are always biting in the summer; feathery flakes fall on red-gold leaves in October; and flowers burst into a jumble of audacious color in May. The only thing that beats taking a canoe out on a misty summer morning is screaming down a ski slope after a fresh snowfall. Summer Means Boating, Hiking and Fishing In spring and summer, your group has exclusive use of a canoe and two kayaks at our private dock a two-minute stroll down the dirt road -- as well as swimming, fishing, golfing, sunbathing or relaxing in two handcrafted wood park benches! Barbecue on the huge front deck, watch the great blue herons that live just over the ridge, play volleyball in the yard, roast marshmallows over the fire pit, nap in a hammock in the woods, go hiking, take the family on a picnic, or go road or mountain biking. At night, watch the stars while relaxing in the hot tub on the back deck. 9% VT lodging tax, $200 cleaning/hot tub will be added to total rent, as well as a CSA travel insurance payment. A winter seasonal rental is available; just ask for rates and info. A ONE-WEEK rental is required in July and August, Sunday to Sunday. FALL FOLIAGE season has a $200 surcharge for the peak weekend or week. Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: MRT-10112011More

This home could use some TLC! Walking in you first notice the shaky banister, followed by the leaning railing on the deck. If you sit on the deck and someone walks on the deck know you feel it shake. The interior is dated. It has...More

Thanks for the info on the shaky banister; we will have the property manager fix it right away. The fridge and bathroom don't really leak. In the lakes region we get a lot of condensation when it's hot and humid, and it can seem like...More

We were very pleased with the rental and would stay again in a moment's notice. The area was great, good fishing and boating, and the amenities in the cabin and at Okemo were vary nice.

About the neighbourhood
Lake Rescue Chalet is on a peninsula in Central Vermont's lakes region, five miles from the village of Ludlow, 3 or so miles from Okemo's Jackson Gore base area 12 from Killington's Skyeship. The house is surrounded by pine trees, but Vermont scenic 100 is very accessible. We have a private dock a one-minute walk down the dirt road. There are about a dozen houses on the peninsula.
Getting around
You need to drive. Roads are quickly cleared in winter.
