Now the new home of Green Mountain Falconry School! Once the country estate and studio of famed painter and fly fishing enthusiast Ogden Pleissner, Boorn Brook Farm has been restored to its original splendor. Situated on 53 acres of open meadows and old apple orchards with stunning views, Boorn Brook Farm is protected by Lye Brook National Forest, yet within 5 minutes of the heart of Manchester and Manchester Center and 20 minutes of 2 great ski mountains, Stratton and Bromley. Stay in the French inspired barn, built in 1820 which has wide-plank floors, hand-hewn beams, soaring ceilings, stone fireplaces and New England charm. In the summer, take falconry lessons on site, swim in the spring-fed pond with a beach, play tennis on the private court, hike on the private trails or in the bordering Lye Brook Wilderness, fish in the brook, or simply relax in one of the hammocks. In the winter, skate on the pond, sled on the hill, snowshoe or cross country ski on the back trails, downhill ski or snowboard at nearby Stratton or Bromley Mountains. Return home to build a roaring fire in the stone fireplace, bake some bread in the stone bread oven, play a game of pool, sip some hot chocolate and then watch the sun set behind Equinox Mountain from the hot tub, right outside your master bedroom! Children and adults alike will also enjoy our farm pets the new adorable goats, Pan and Axel!More

Wow, what a gorgeous location, the farm is so peaceful and serene that you can feel any stress just melt away. We’ve been here in both Winter and now Summer and can’t say which we prefer. Both are pretty times to visit. As with everything, views are one thing but hospitality is another, and our host Jeff takes it to a whole new level. Jeff is so accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. Jeff’s passion for this farm and it’s heritage is clear when he regales his stories of restoring this beautiful barn and of the former famous painter, Ogden Pleissner, the famed WWII artist who used this as his studio. We have fallen in love with this picture perfect location and the friendly town of Manchester Center which is only 5 mins drive away, so much so we’re getting married here and have flown 11,000 miles from Australia to do so. We cannot recommend Boorn Brook Farm and our wonderful host, Jeff Nyweide, highly enough. PS – Make sure you check out the hikes and the wonderful brook which give the farm its name.

This historic barn is breathtaking, inside and out. Beautifully furnished in a truly stunning location, this is the perfect place for true relaxation. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the pizza oven and the awesome falconry experience, situated within the grounds, was the icing on the cake. Jeff was a wonderfully helpful host and we would thoroughly recommend this little slice of New England heaven to anyone.

With all that is happening in our country, I found myself in a beautiful and warm community in Manchester Vermont. My sister and I were able to savor and appreciate the solace this wonderful farm exudes. We stayed in the1820's restored barn with very comfortable and cozy bedrooms. The kitchen was fully stocked, so cooking our meals was fun and easy. This kitchen has a pizza oven! Part of the farm experience included petting sweet and friendly goats, learning about and handling hawks and falcons( Boorn Brook farm hosts a Falconry School) from a handsome Scotsman named Rob. We had just missed the honey harvest from the local bees housed on the property, but we won't miss it next time!
