A charming camp with knotty pine paneling and updates such as Smart TV. Plenty of fans for the hotter days. There is a quirky situation- you need to go through the bathroom to get to the 2 bedrooms. So to get privacy you need to close 3 doors and hope no one needs to go in or out while you're in there! Probably not an issue for a family with little kids, but for 2 couples it can be awkward. Nice grassy lakefront area across the road- and the best view of Mt Moosalamoo!

We enjoyed three nights and four days at Doc's cabin and found it to be the getaway we needed. The place has such character and comfortable accommodations. We were able to settle in right away. Having access to the lake and all the additional equipment was such a benefit! We took advantage of the fire pit and spent most of our evenings watching the water and relaxing. Doc was especially friendly and willing to help us with anything that came up (nothing did but we knew we could contact him!) We hope to go back some day in the future!

So lucky to have been able to have found this little gem!! Beautiful downstairs of a lake house on Lake Dunmore that has been remodeled but the owners were still able to keep the vintage feel; couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our hosts were incredibly kind and the most down to earth people you could meet. I hope for many more years to come of summer vacations at Doc’s Lake house. My husband and I thank you for such a wonderful and true Vermont stay!

This was a beautiful location and an amazing stay. Gorgeous river right out behind the house. Tons of snow so Doc plowed a path out to the river and fire pit and gave us kindling and wood for a fire. Cozy warm house, beds were super comfortable. We loved everything about our stay.

We found it to be cozy and comfortable. Loved the interior set up. And the location was great as we were close to many of the ski resorts and popular sites. The owner’s were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay there again should we venture into Vermont again on vacation. And was glad to see that they excepted pets, very few places do and that makes it hard for renters who love traveling with there pets. I give Gary and his wife 5 stars , and would strongly recommend there place if your touring Vermont. Thumbs up Gary. And thank you for making us feel comfortable during our stay. 👍

We wanted a no frills, clean place near Middlebury but not in town and this was great for that. Hosts were very responsive and it's evident they really try to make their guests feel welcome. Easy walk to the pub across the street (typ bar food, amazing IPA), and right across from lake. We visited in December so not much lake action, but in the summer this place is perfect for a lake retreat. Love the area, would definitely come back!

Loved this well-equipped single level older, but loved, home with a view of lake Dunmore in front & a stream behind, and an easy 10 minute distance from Middlebury. Owner was immediately responsive to minor suggestions we conveyed as we departed. We will be back.

The apartment was just what we needed as we were visiting Middlebury College which was just a short drive away. Unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy the lake and other amenities of the location because we were gone all day for other activities. We hope to come back and enjoy again!! Thank you.

Great place! Very clean and Gary and Missy are great hosts. A babbling brook in the back of the house and crystal clear water in Lake Dunmore in front.
