Historic Irvington, VA has been called 'Mayberry meets Manhattan.' Enjoy this quaint quintessential waterfront village without sacrificing great dining, shopping or style. Our house is an easy stroll or bike ride to a delicious meal at Dredge, great coffee and more at The Local, and the Chesapeake Club at The Tides Inn. The local shop 'The Dandelion' will keep you in style, and the gallery 'Objects' are also just up the street. The Tides Inn offers amazing spa services and an upscale gift shop. Enjoy history? Walk to The Steamboat Museum. Christ Church is one of the oldest churches in the nation and is just a short drive. There are many other historic sight nearby. Rent a boat for fun or fishing. Golf at one of the famous local Irvington courses, The Golden Eagle, or the King Carter. In warmer weather on the first Saturday of the month, Irvington hosts a wonderful Farmer's Market in the town square (yes, you can walk there as well!) An open air market featuring farm fresh produce and meats, crafts, plants, and something for everyone. There are other markets in nearby towns as well. Two miles to the east is the wonderful town of White Stone. Stop in at The River Market or Bentley's for lunch or dinner, visit Seven -- a sinful Martini bar, or shop for fashionable clothes and accessories at Farm. Take scenic Windmill Point Road to the Pelican Tiki Bar and enjoy drinks and watch the sunset of the Chesapeake Bay. Kilmarnock, VA is about a seven minute drive. There are great high end and casual restaurants there as well: Rappahannock Grill, Thai Pot, Carried Away Cuisine, Savannah Joe's Barbeque, and The Car Wash Cafe. Great antique stores, movie theatres, upscale shopping, and RAL -- The Rappahannock Art League Gallery are all worth a visit. The Northern Neck is known for its festivals, parades and events. All summer long there are things to do and see. The Fourth of July features local small-town parades with vintage cars and fire engines. The Irvington Parade goes right by the house. Weekend
The house itself was very comfortable and it was nicely decorated. The bathtub in downstairs bathroom was not functioning correctly and there were no electrical outlets in it to dry your hair. The outdoor patio has lots of potential, however it was overgrown with weeds. Lastly, there was laundry in the washer and dryer, and we took care of that because we didn’t think wet towels and sheets should be left in the machine.

Hope and Glory Inn
I wish I had stayed here in Irvington Virginia, but the Inn was full. BUT, I know the owners and I use to live in this area and I know for a fact how nice it is. I have put friends up here and they were very pleased. I spoke to Peggy, (owner) and asked why everything in town seemed to be booked. She said because it's summer and everyone likes to get away to the water, for boating, crabbing, fishing, weddings, etc. SO, make plans way in advance and remember, the fall is wonderful too.

Very clean, nice quiet neighborhood.
This house is very clean, and the yard well groomed. The neighborhood is very quiet, with people walking, who pleasantly greet you in passing. Parking is about 8 or 9 steps from the front door. All the amenities needed for a pleasant no hassle vacation are provided. Owners are available to answer questions. The kitchen and laundry rooms are small, still they have everything readily available for your use. Other rooms are quite spacious. Bathrooms are modern, and updated. The patio at the rear of the house is fairly secluded, and spacious. There is plenty of closet space. The whole house has been tastefully decorated. The pictures of this property are what you get. Certainly beats a motel room, for the same price.

Beautifully decorated unique quaint home.
The home was very lovely and accommodating for my 2 parents, friend and myself. The large master bedroom is very roomy and on the 1st floor. The bath is updated with a large tub but no shower. The kitchen is a galley type but has everything you need. No dishwasher though. The stairs leading upstairs are narrow and steep but very manageable for my friend and myself but would not be good for my parents who are in their 80's. The upstairs bedroom is accommodating and adequate with a large closest. The bathroom is small, has a shower and nicely decorated. Overal, the home was perfect for our stay over the weekend. It's close to the shops and the Tides Inn. We hope to return for another visit soon. We love it.
