We grow 100% Kona coffee on our farm. We have several orchards organized in rows on the hill side as well as several plantings in the shade of tall macadamia nut trees. Our farm is lined with nearly 200 macadamia nut trees that provide us with a bountiful harvest. In addition to the coffee and nuts, we have many varieties of fruit trees. We have Golden Glow mangos, Haden mangos, papayas, pineapples, guava, passionfruit, lychee, cherimoya, soursop, lime, sour orange, pomegranate, avocado, bananas, figs, coconuts, monstera, rose apples, custard apples and noni. We also grow cocoa and kukui nut. Our farm features unique lava rock out croppings as well as beautiful varieties of palm trees and flowers. Every guest is treated to a tour of the farm. We will show you how we process the coffee and care for the trees. When you arrive, you will have a bouquet of freshly picked flowers as well as an assortment of in season fruits from our farm. The Tree Top Apartment is a private second floor apartment with ocean and mountain views. The apartment is completely separate and private from the owner's home. The cathedral ceilings, sky light, stained glass window and sliding glass door to the lanai invite in the sun and outdoors to the apartment. At approximately 750 square feet, the apartment accommodates four people. Our farm is at a comfortable 1000 foot elevation so air conditioning is not needed. We are blessed with warm sunny days and evenings perfect for sleeping. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. The two bedrooms and the kitchen have ceiling fans. The living room has a TV, DVD player, VCR and CD player. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals while you are in paradise. Killino Farms is Hawaii the way you want it. Lush, quiet, a view of the sunset, and convenient to shopping and coffee shops. It is local, not touristy. So you won't get all that fake plastic junk that smells foofy. Instead you will get REAL 100% Kona coffee beans, fresh fruit, lush flowers, and geckos. You will hear frogs at night, and roosters in the morning, mid morning you will hear chickens making those cute chicken sounds. You will see Daisy the dog running through the grass following her trusty master Todd. This is a working farm people, so there is work for the family to do. Sitting on the lanai having fresh coffee in the mornings and then having a beer in the afternoon is all great. There is a grocery store about 10 minutes north that has everything you want, and there are also local places to eat. Two step is a close drive, Captain Cook and Kealakakua Bay are a nice drive and a town where you can, if you want, get foofy things. Volcanoes NP is 1.5 hours away. Note: be patient driving down the driveway!! GO 5MPH or you can do some damage to your rental car. You will bounce around if you go any faster than 5mph. Todd was a great host and was easily accessible by text. He will take you on a tour of the farm (which I highly recommend) and make sure you are comfortable and set in your rental. Thank you Todd for making this a great stay!

We stayed at the Killino Coffee Farm and couldn't be happier. The driveway is a bit tricky to find, but once you get there you are in another world. The lanai is the perfect place to hang out and drink some of Killino's excellent coffee. (We bought two pounds to take home!) You will also have a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and some fresh fruit and the largest avocados you've ever seen in the kitchen. Our hosts were present and reachable but not intrusive in any way. The birds, butterflies and flora on the property were delightful! If you don't like the sound of frogs, you might need earplugs until you get used to them. I personally found them soothing and fell right to sleep. I thought my bed would be too soft, but slept like a baby. :-) There is a full kitchen with all of the tools you should need as well as a BBQ. There's also a cool outdoor shower if you want to bathe al fresco. If you go, say hi to Daisy - she is a sweet little pup!

I stayed at this awesome little upstairs apartment & can't believe I forgot to leave a review! I loved how secluded this farm was. Todd is a great host. We got farm fresh coffee & some fruits they shared with us. My favorite place I've stayed on island so far. <3

Our family of four enjoyed our visit to the Big Island, but Kim and Todd (and Daisy and Louie, the dogs) made our stay special. It is so true that the apartment has everything you need at your fingertips. We cooked breakfast and dinner, and had all the utensils and pans we could want. Highly recommend staying at Killino Farm for your consideration. From the fresh fruit, coffee beans, and flowers delivered upon arrival to the daily welcomed visits from Daisy and Louie, you feel right at home. This was our second year staying here. Very good value for the money.

Owners are fantastic, very accommodating and have everything you need in the apartment. My wife and I stayed here for a week and loved every minute. We cooked breakfast most mornings and drank coffee provided from the farm. This is the smoothest coffee we've ever tasted. They had everything we needed to take to the beach each day. We had fresh papaya and avocados every day also provided by our hosts. We highly recommend Killino Farm and will be going back in the future.

This is a very well appointed apartment, which made it feel like home. Met with flowers and a bowl of fresh fruit from the farm. We enjoyed breakfast on the lanai with views out to the distant water. The evenings brought the farm alive with sounds of the coqui frogs and geckos. Todd gave us a farm tour, we learned much from him and his daughter! We made good use of the boogie boards, beach chairs and snorkel gear, much appreciated! The only downside is it is difficult to find after dark, if arriving then. Also be aware that Captain Cook area is a bit far removed from everything. We did a lot of driving, but felt it was worth it to come back to this sweet place every night.

Todd was really great and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. Finding the place was very easy per his directions. The driveway while a little rough was easy peasy and just takes some patience. I've seen other reviews mention it but we learned it's been paved at the old rough spot and also important to mention that this is a working farm so it's to be expected that the road has a little character. When we arrived we were warmly great by Todd and his two dogs. The fresh fruit bowl was also a great welcome! Included with the place was free snorkeling and beach gear which we threw in the back of our car and got to use quite a bit. Two step is a must for snorkeling and is super close by. The sunsets at this place are also to die for! Last but not least the tour was super informative and really cool. Glad to been able to see how a small Kona coffee farm operates and meet those who keep it running. I would absolutely stay here again!

We a family of 4 stayed at the Killino Kona Coffee Farm just south of Captain Cook in early August 2018. The guesthouse upstairs apartment with two bedrooms was really wonderful for our family and had everything we needed plus more. The hosts we excellent and easygoing, it was a delight to meet their daughters and the visiting grandparents as well as the two family dogs. Todd gave as a lot of good advice and tips about where to go to find the best snorkeling beaches (one of which is very close), hike or test out our 4 wheel drive Jeep on the way to a spectacular place. The guest house location was wonderful and the surrounding plants and trees full of fruit, flowers and birds added to the our sense of being in the tropics. I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the birds a frogs with the fan lightly blowing overhead. Morning coffees and breakfasts on the deck looking out to the ocean horizon together with the many wonderful dinners we enjoyed as a family out on the deck watching the gecko's catch insects as the awesome sunsets unfolded in the tropical environment made this one of the best places we have ever stayed during our travels. The accommodations are not only a great bargain but well arranged and kept up. Unless you are looking for the more sterile Resort experience, you really can't go wrong in choosing this property.

We stayed at Killino farm for our holiday in Kona. We met the host Todd, who greeted us at the driveway despite us turning up earlier than my email suggested. Todd gave us a tour of the farm and also provided us a tray of fresh papayas. There's also an important (and slightly alarming for my other half) guide on different insects that may be encountered during our stay - this was a farm, not a resort after all! There's also beach gear available, including snorkeling masks and fins, beach chairs etc, which were very useful as we're so close to two-step and captain cook snorkeling sites. We really enjoyed our stay at the Killino farm.

About the neighbourhood
Killino Farms is on the sunny side of the Big Island of Hawaii. We are in Kona Coffee country where the world famous Kona coffee is grown. We grow and process our own Kona coffee and Macadamia nuts. We are located more than 1/4 mile off the highway. Our 7.5 acre farm is on the makai (ocean side) of the highway and is at a comfortable 1000 foot elevation. Although we are not within walking distance to the beach from our farm, a wonderful snorkeling and scuba diving beach, the Place of Refuge, is just a short car ride away. We have beautiful views of the ocean and coastline as well as majestic views of the mountains. Staying with us will give you the experience of the real Hawaii. Your vacation rental is nestled among coffee orchards and natural lava formations. Our farm is overflowing with ...
