We’ve visited the other main HI islands many times over the years, but this was our first time to the north shore of Oahu. So we had big expectations for the experience and it did not disappoint. This property is perfectly located in the Pupukea area north of old Haleiwa and....right on the beach! This allows for any member of the family to go have an all time beach experience of their own whenever they want. Our 15 year old daughter would get out of bed early every morning (which never happens at home), walk out the back porch and onto the beach and soak in the peace and serenity of Keiki Beach.
The back porch is surrounded by large, mature trees which creates an incredible natural shade system letting in just enough sun without getting heat scorched. We used the bbq and outdoor furniture almost every day.
Inside the home is well appointed throughout. Nice kitchen appliances and all the plates, cups, utensils, etc you will need to cook and dine at the house. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable as well.
Small issues should always be expected with these rentals during one’s stay and we have learned to make judgements of the property based on the property manager’s response versus the issue itself. I can tell you that our experience with Daniel Sherman (property manager) was the best we’ve ever had and we have been booking homes through VRBO for around 20 years. He is proactive in his outreach (without being overbearing), and his reaction time is second to none. We never felt we were putting him out and he provided useful advice and solved problems fast. Example: On the afternoon of our arrival we noticed one of the room AC units was not functioning properly. We called Daniel after 5 PM and he had the handyman at the home to fix the problem at 9 AM the next morning. He is a rock star and was a key component to our positive experience.
