My review on the loft apartment in Tribeca. It was the most dated apartment I have ever stayed in. The price I paid, I expected a place a little more updated than what it was. The information sent to me had the most “do not’s” that made you feel very uncomfortable from the start.
On first arrival and opening the front door you were greeted with a good number of stairs. The hallway, quite grubby, I might add. Once up the stairs and going into the actual loft apartment, we were greeted with a pungent smell of mothballs. Inside the apartment that was advertised as a two bedroom, you found just a flimsy partition that divided the bedrooms. No privacy, one bedroom had a double bed and the other bunk-beds. Not ideal for two couples – as it states it sleeps 4 people.
The shower was very temperamental, hot water scolded us a few times, then ran cold, minor I understand, but not when you would like to shower without trying your best not to get burned. The pipes throughout the apartment are exposed, making way for lots of pipe noises when the heating came on. The one in the main bedroom was very hot, so be careful if you bring children in there.
It was quite stuffy inside the apartment and the “do not’s” continued with not to open the large windows and put the A/C on - there was no A/C (not that we found). So, you just have to wrap up in the morning and strip down in the evening, when it became stuffy.
Would I return to this apartment, absolutely not, would I recommend this apartment, absolutely not, unless you don’t mind what I have written about it.
The positive I can review about the apartment – good location, that's why I have given it two stars!
