Boat trips are available in nearby Teelin for angling or sightseeing around Slieve League,if you think it's impressive from the top looking down it is positively awesome gazing upwards from the deck of a boat. If hill walking is your thing, then there are numerous mapped and sign posted walks in the surrounding area and a scattering of archaeological sites to visit also. Why don't you come and enjoy a warm Donegal welcome at Kate's Cottage More

Lovely cottage situated above the harbour! Nice quite location within easy access of kilcar village! Muckross beach is only 2kms away! It is a lovely beach! House was very clean and tidy and Michelle was more than helpful! Everything you need was there in the house! We will hopefully be back next year! We ate in the seafood shack in killybegs (take away) and the rusty mackerel in teelin (sit in) which were both lovely! We did the Atlantic boat trip from killybegs and it was great and also went to fintra beach! All very good

We had a flying trip to Kilcar and could not have stayed in a better place. I wish we were able to stay for longer. Michelle was an absolute gem to deal with, nothing was ever too much to ask for. The cottage is beautiful, cosy and quirky with stunning views from the front door. It was handy to Sliabh Liag, Carrick, Muckross Head, Fintra beach and Teelin. We were even able to catch a local derby Gaelic match with Kilcar and Killybegs at their very scenic pitch. The cottage has everything you could need for a comfortable stay and a world.of information for local eateries and attractions. Even in a pandemic, it was a fantastic staycation. Will def book again!!

Fantastic overall: The location, just stunning! The cottage, fits right in with the location! The accessibility It’s on a dead end road with literally zero traffic! The views, are right at your front door! The host, michelle was amazing! Lives right next door, but the only time we seen her, was when we went over to her house! Nothing bad to say....well, apart from the weather, but we made the most of it!! Highly recommended And we will be back!!!

The views from the front were difficult to tear yourself away from. Easy to stroll down to the tiny harbour and wander over the paths at the headland. Great place to be based for a longer stay than the 3 days we had. Enjoyed the meal at the Rusty Mackerel at Teelin , great walk and views of the slieve lieg- didn't get around to having a Guiness at the local in Kilcar. Very pretty rivers with stopping places to sit or wander along. Michelle was very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The fire was lit when we arrived which was welcome as it was fairly late and getting a bit nippier. The upstairs was particularly toasty. The place had all you needed. It was a very quiet location and we enjoyed watching the hares and birdlife. There were two local shops that we saw but it was a quick jaunt to Killybegs and we enjoyed the local produce available from the supervalu supermarket, munching it on the fantastic beach Funch? something - a couple of kms on the way back from Killybegs. Should have taken my swimmers!

Location just Idyllic. house cosy and comfortable. The owner Michelle who lives next door is most welcoming friendly and caring and catered for our every need while fully respecting our privacy. We felt so relaxed and at ease there. We hated leaving and will definitely be back DV

My mother and I had an amazing time in Kates cottage. Michelle is a fantastic host and gave us a very warm welcome. The cottage has everything you need for a great self catering holiday and Michelle seems to have thought of everything. We loved the views from the cottage, they were spectacular. Can't wait to return. Would definitely recommend. A+++++
