This home had many pluses; beautifully decorated, lovely linens, plentiful china and cutlery etc. Also a wonderful veranda with gorgeous peaceful views right in the heart of the Hunter but not too far from Cessnock.
Unfortunately for us there was one big drawback: the "two" bathrooms. The main bathroom was lovely, bath, separate shower etc,. Unfortunately no lock or snib on door, so we has to devise a system so no one would walk in on any incumbents. A snib on the inside could be easily added if the key is lost.
However we were a party of two couples in their 60's/70's and a 90 year old and were very disappointed not to have a second bathroom in the house. What was referred to as the second bathroom was an outhouse off the veranda. It housed the table tennis table, a bath with shower inside, the washing machine and laundry sinks, and what in Scotland we would refer to as the"outside cludgy" or "outside privy" i.e. A very basic toilet in not very pleasant surroundings. If you are one family, and young enough not to mind going outside then it may be fine, but it was a bit inconvenient for us.
I dont want to put people off going, as the house was lovely and as long as you know what you're getting it's fine, but I think the description could be a bit more honest.
