We are new to the Trip Advisors and Flip Key Communities and are very excited to be here and join you. We are not new to the shared economy and home share community. In the 16 months since we first joined Airbnb, we've hosted nearly 1,000 guests through over 200 reservations. By travelers from Beijing to Dusseldorf and everywhere in between. We now have over 135 rousingly positive reviews from folks who have visited us and have made The Harwood Cottage one of the regions top host destination choices by travelers like you... looking for a warmer, friendlier, 'novel' experience... well beyond those ubiquitous eggshell colored double rooms. The Harwood Cottage is a large, 1920's brick, Neo-Classical home just a few blocks off of I-75's exit 164 in Historic Macon, Georgia. While less than a mile off the Interstate, the home more than 100 years beyond the neon motel lights along the highway. Step back in time and imagine yourself in a world of Southern Novelists, during the golden age of Gothic Literature in this1920's Jazz Era writer's cottage, nestled among the stately mansions that line Macon's Historic Vineville Avenue. Individual Suites are available from $65 - $85/night (see suite photos: The Eudora, The Sidney, The William and The Zelda), or arrange to stay in the entire property which comfortably sleeps 8-13 with 6 bedrooms, 8 beds and 3 full baths. Individual suites have private baths. All guests receive off street secure parking , free & fast wifi and a traditional Southern Continental Breakfast, served on our finest English bone china. The Harwood Cottage is a fresh welcome,, a friendly change and a most novel experience. Come live a life you might have imagined, if just for one night. You'll discover that you too have a place in the heart of Georgia!More

It is obvious that this person (not even sure if she was an actual paying guest or not), has been making the rounds on all the websites dying the meanest of things to close us down because we weren’t willing to take her psychotic behavior...More

Interaction with guests
At The Harwood Cottage, we make sure we only interact with guests at the level with which they are most comfortable. For our suites guests, owner and manager presence may appear higher than in the whole house rental simply because, the team stays in the main house throughout. In whole house rentals, an assumption of privacy exists, such that another family or group is actually taking up residence. In these cases, the team stays on the garden level of the mansion doing laundry and other chores. They actually physically lock themselves out. During these stays, the owner must literally ring the doorbell to gain entrance infrequently and only as needed.

About the neighbourhood
Just a few doors down is The Allman Brothers' ‘Big House Museum' which you can tour daily from 10am to 6pm.. You never know who might be playing out in the gazebo there! Vineville is also home to what is arguably the region's best pizza (Ingleside Pizza), the Georgia School for the Blind, the site of the Confederate Munitions Testing Laboratories, A pair of massive live oaks planted from acorns in 1830 and one of the best French Restaurants this side of Les Halles (The Back Burner). We were recently featured on an episode of TLC's “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'. My list of Macon ‘must sees' includes: The Hay House Museum (The Palace of The South), The Mansions Along College Avenue from Mercer University to Riverside Drive, The Grand Old Opera House, The Ochmulgee National Monument with its Pr...
