The people in Rish are hospitable and friendly, and think nothing of inviting you into their home and treating you to their home made food. There are 3 small shops in the village selling fruit and veg that's grown locally, there's no big supermarket, but all you need is there. There are many lovely walks in Rish, overlooking the beautiful countryside. The months of December and January are not suitable to go to Lorden Retreat, as it's quite cold and sometimes snowed in. The Spring is beautiful with all the flowers and foliage coming through, Summer does get quite hot, I do have a large paddling pool that could be filled from the well, and I'm planning on getting a wooden plunge pool. It is quite cool inside the house. Alfresco eating is popular and there is a BBQ there for that with all the coals and lighters. A good idea would be to hire a car as Bulgaria not only has The Black Sea, but is surrounded by 5 other countries, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey, I have not done this but it's something I intend to do in the future. Also with a population of only 7 million the roads are traffic free. If car hire appeals to you, I can arrange for a friend to meet you at the airport and you could follow him to the house. I have English friends, as well as Bulgarians, in the village who maintain my property, they are there to hand if there is anything you need Ideally, people who go there would want to go back year after year, as I'm sure they will love it as much as I do.
