Cottage
A Four Star, original stone built miners cottage adjoining our farmhouse, Kellah Cottage sleeps 4. The cottage has a solid fuel open fire and is centrally heated by our biomass boiler which also provides plenty of hot water keeping the cottage cosy all year round. It has a private walled garden to the front, overlooking the North Pennine Fells. Pets are welcome. Upstairs is an electric shower room with wash basin and toilet, and two bedrooms; one has a double bed, the other a double and a single bed. Downstairs is a kitchen, lounge room and separate dining room.

Interaction with guests
Kellah Farm is a working farm so at times we are very busy with animals. Visitors can visit the sheds during lambing time and calving time ( April through to May) and see a working farm in action. During the summer months it is harvest time to gather the winter feed for the cattle and sheep and also time to prepare sheep for the autumn sales.

A group of us stayed here for three nights whilst walking Hadrian's Wall (we had driver support team!). It was simply wonderful. Great rooms, powerful showers, a bath to use, boot room, lounge and loads of parking. The breakfast was fabulous - freshly cooked and beautiful fresh fruit, and great coffee. We are all so thankful for choosing this. And will be back. Chris, Kay, Jane, Woody, Tony and Barb :)

Kellah cottage is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage, with beautiful views over the Penines. A friendly welcome from Lesley helped to make us feel at home straightaway, and we had a brilliant few days exploring the area in glorious sunshine! The Lake District and Northumberland coast are both within reach, and so this makes Kellah a great place to stay to make the most of the beautiful scenery, and numerous historical places of interest to visit. A special place to stay.

Really nice place, and stunning countryside/wildlife. Our son saw a calf born, we had chickens in the garden, a partridge nesting in the corner, cows and sheep all around makes this a real country get away on a working farm. We used the cottage as a base for sightseeing and visiting Northumberland. Thanks Lesley and Tom.

Kellah isn't a place you'd stumble across by accident. It's only a few miles from the A69, but the lane doesn't go anywhere else so it's never going to be busy. The surrounding countryside is very striking and full of wildlife. The cottage itself is as near to perfection as makes no difference: clean, well-appointed and welcoming. And the heating! The farm has a bio-mass boiler which appears to provide continuous heat and at no extra cost. There's also a coal fire for an extra feeling of cosiness. We didn't strictly need to use it, but who can resist an open fire on a winter's night? Oh, and there's wi-fi which worked far better than we'd been led to expect (which is in itself a welcome change). I just wish we could have stayed longer. There's little doubt that we'll be back.
