Orphan Crag is a cosy cottage believed to date from the 17th century. It offers comfortable accommodation for up to six guests, having been recently completely refurbished to a high standard? The cottage has three double bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and separate shower, dining room with wood burning stove and good sized living room. Outside there is an enclosed rear garden with picnic table for outside dining. Children are welcome, but potential guests should be aware there is no stair gate. Excellent, well appointed cottage. Underbarrow is very small - no shops but a very good pub close by serving good food & drink. Nearest shops etc in Stavely which is worth a visit anyway, if only for Hawkshead brewery (excellent ales!!) Cottage has everything you...More

About the neighbourhood
The village of Underbarrow is situated at the head of the Lyth valley, famous for its damsons. Local walks include Scout Scar where there are stunning views across to the Langdales. At the end of the day guests can either relax in the garden or take a short stroll to the village pub. The market town of Kendal is a ten minute drive and as well as a good range of shops, there are cafés and restaurants and many events throughout the year. Nearby attractions include Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall, and all the attractions in and around Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside just a short drive away.
