Chalet
Our traditional-style, wooden, detached chalet has five bedrooms, sleeping up to 9 guests, and has the luxury of a private, indoor heated swimming pool (30ft x 10ft) and large sauna.
The chalet enjoys lovely views and is the ideal base for your Swiss holiday, offering an atmosphere of relaxation and plenty of opportunity for all seasons recreation or touring. This region is richly historical and spectacularly beautiful, sprinkled with idyllic towns and villages.
The chalet is on two floors with the bedrooms on the lower ground floor. On the upper floor is the entrance hall. This leads to the small, compact but very well equipped kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, integrated fridge-freezer, integrated dishwasher, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc etc).

The entrance hall leads onto the open-plan living and dining area. The living area is around an open log fire. There is a large corner sofa and a three-seater sofa around a coffee table. There is a large wooden truck full of board games, cards, etc. There is a digital radio and MP3/iPod player.
The dining table seats 8 people and 10 people when extended.
Also on the entrance level is a single bedroom, with a wash basin. There is an adjacent WC.
Downstairs (spiral stone stairs) are three further bedrooms, a family bathroom and a separate WC. The master bedroom has a 5ft (160cm) bed with luxury feather all-season king-size duvet, feather pillows and a sumptuous mattress topper. There is a window to the south and French doors to the terrace. The wardrobe is built-in and there is a chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets.
The smaller double room has a 4ft6 (140cm) bed, also with luxury feather all-season duvet, feather pillows and a sumptuous mattress topper for a blissful sleep. The window overlooks the terrace and there is a built-in wardrobe. There is also a door to the swimming pool.
The twin bedroom has two 3ft/90cm beds, each with feather all-season duvets, feather pillows and sumptuous mattress toppers. A single wardrobe and small chest of drawers for storage. The window overlooks the garden.
The family bathroom enjoys underfloor heating, a large double vanity unit, and a large shower/bath.
The swimming pool is accessed via the smaller double bedroom. The pool (9.35m x 3m) is 1.5m deep all over. It is heated to around 28c all year round. There is a large sauna that will accommodate 3 adults lying down or 6-7 adults sitting. The pool has south-facing floor to ceiling windows onto the garden with views of the mountains.
Adjacent but attached to the chalet is the 'studio' with its own entrance. There is a double bed and an en-suite shower room. Two large chest of drawers hold all your belongings.
We have excellent wifi, with the latest router from Swisscom offering fast, stable internet.

About 10km away is the market town of Bulle, also with a chateau at its centre, providing all the normal amenities of a small Swiss town, together with a folk museum, art gallery and a local market on Thursday mornings.
To the east the Jaun Pass, the most mountainous in the Fribourg Alps, leads to the Jungfrau and Interlaken regions in the Bernese Oberland. To the south east lies Gstaad and Chateau d'Oex, favoured by the rich jet-set, and good for skiing, walking, or taking in the beautiful scenery. Bordering Lake Geneva are the towns of Vevey, home to Charlie Chaplin, Montreux, famous for the jazz and film festivals, Lausanne and Geneva.
To the north are the ancient towns of Fribourg, Murten, Basle, and the Swiss capital, Berne.
The area is great for those into adventure sports such as canyoning, paragliding, and mountain biking.
