Stunning location but needs some maintenance
Bay View is a beautiful cottage in an amazing location....quiet great for children with a big spacious lawn and two cosy spacious sitting rooms and separate dining room.
The views out the windows are really amazing and so relaxing
However this property is not maintained......we struggled to open front door key was rusty lit a fire and were choked with smoke windows downstairs stiff to open.....you need to fully open the damper in fireplace The house needs an information file A welcome folder of up to date information would be helpful......
There is a strong smell of oil from the heating in downstairs bedroom dining room ....think boiler might need servicing.
Attention to detail is absent One bathroom for 6 people no toilet brush is really bad.....no hand soap and one third of a toilet roll....Upstairs toilet doesn't flush very well
The oven really needs replacing and when we arrived fridge freezer was off......freezer full of water and old food....reading light not working in bedroom, light in sitting room not working
No cafetiere. No baking trays and saucepans pretty worn out.
If this property was given an overhaul it would be totally wonderful
Shame the carpets in bedrooms are badly stained......
Worrying when we told people in tearoom and visitor attractions where we were staying they shook their head and said it would never get grading as it wasn't maintained
Please sort out these issues and you will have best cottage on the Coast

Incredible location, you couldn't get closer to the sea!
Considering it was Autumn half-term on the north coast of Antrim, we weren't sure what the weather would bring, but we couldn't have been more fortunate as the mild October brought big swells out at sea and blue skies above. The house was perfect for walking out the door and a ten scramble across the white rocks to the 1.5 mile long Whitepark Bay beach. Even our seven year old daughter had no problem with getting across, though she did keep stopping to investigate the rock pools and deep caves along the way. If the tide is out, when you reach the far end of the beach you can keep walking along to Ballintoy Harbour (another ten minutes) for some incredible home cooked food in the water-front restaurant. This is also the setting for some of the Game of Thrones scenes in the Iron Islands.
Bay View Cottage has lots of heritage to admire within, the aged black and white photographs provide a glimpse of the fishing history of the house and Port Bradden. Plenty of historical books to read when curled up on the sprawling sofa in front of the roaring fire in the evening, after a wind-swept walk along the coastal paths while enjoying a Bushmills whiskey. Wood was provided for the fire, but sadly not the whiskey.
There is a TV and DVD player to keep bored children entertained, but we never used them during our week long stay! Our daughter never tired of keeping herself entertained in the back garden playing in the trees or running around in the front garden. She found some bikes and some garden games in the garage and board-games in the cupboards.
The oil fired system is fairly new with heating and hot water each morning for the chillier mornings. Sufficient pots, pans, cutlery etc for you to make an Ulster Fry in the morning, or a stew for the evening. The town of Bushmills (5 miles along the coast road) has two well stocked butchers selling local produce, fresh veg shops and many cafes and restaurants selling morning-fresh bread. Be warned; your waistline will take a beating!
Inside the house, decor is a global fusion of tasteful styles with heavy curtains, leather armchairs and carved wooden cupboards and tables giving each room a different atmosphere and ambience. Through the 'snug' living room with an eastern influence of furniture, deep twin sofas, hidden stereo system and open fire into the bright and spacious family room, with large ocean facing bay windows where we spent our evenings playing games or reading books from the selection provided (take one and leave one behind) listening to the waves crashing outside; magical.
We hope to be back in the summer of 2018 with more friends and children who can make use of the self-catering annex, the children can play on the beach below while we get out on the surf 30 yards from the front door!

Beautiful weekend spent at Bay View Cottage
I stayed in this cottage a couple of years ago and we decided to book again for a weekend. I was shocked to find the house has been completely revamped, it was stunning. We struck lucky with the weather and enjoyed barbequing with friends. I will definitely book this house again soon!

Weekend break at Portbradden
Absolutely loved staying at this property, the views are stunning, the house is decorated so tastefully with attention to detail throughout. The location is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle but you also have the option of driving 5-10 minutes into Bushmills to shops/coffee shops/restaurants. There are two good sized gardens at both front and rear of the house for barbecues and lawn games while taking in the views of White Park Bay beach and Rathlin Island. Great sized kitchen and dining room for preparing meals/entertaining and two comfortable reception rooms both with sea views.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the family and will definitely be booking again.

Weekend away
We had a great weekend away at the house, the house was spacious and very relaxing, plenty of seats to enjoy the view throughout the house! With all the decor and furnishings it felt like a home away from home, but better and that was just the inside!! The garden in the front was FANTASTIC!! It was big enought to really runabout in and the view of the sea couldn’t be any better, such a unspoilt area with natural beauty everywhere. It was a magical stay, we wish we could have stayed longer than the weekend! Thank you so much, would love to stay again!! 😊👍🏻👍🏻

You will not find better!
If you are looking for peace and quiet along with some of the best views that the North Coast has to offer then look no further.. this house in situated in a beautiful sandy bay overlooking Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and Rathlin island in the distance if you are lucky enough to have the weather to see that far.
The house itself along with the annex accommodation will house 8-10 guests with ease, and has bagfuls of character. The house is elegantly furnished and very clean throughout.
Highly recommended!!

Perfect family friendly cottage get away with a stunning view!
Perfect weekend get away with the family! Great service from Miriam and the Causeway Coast Rental Team, house was spotless on arrival. Located in Portbradden sitting amongst a small cluster of seaside cottages with a stunning view over nearby Whitepark bay. Within meters of the sea beside a snug little harbour, the house looks over Whitepark Bay beach, world famous for its beauty. Words can’ describe the view! Great location within a few miles of Bushmills, Portballintrae, Ballycastle and Portrush.
Has a large front garden with a private little rear paved yard and rear garden surrounded by trees which was great for BBQing in the evenings (the charcoal BBQ supplied with the house went down a treat). The house must be well over a hundred years old, however don’t let this put you off, it has recently refurbished with everything you need and is packed full of character. Later in the evenings when it got a bit cooler outside we all snuggled up in the 2No. generous living rooms (the kids in one and the adults in the other), fire lit and looking out across the bay with the local Bushmills whiskey in hand it was shear bliss. Can’t wait to book again for next year!

Unique experience
Our stay in Portbradden has been simply amazing. The cottage is perfectly located beside the water with an uninterrupted view across Whitepark Bay, and out to Rathlin. We could have spent our two weeks here just watching the water change every day -- many passing dolphins and seals have been spotted! The house itself is great, we've greatly enjoyed having the space, the open fire, and all the amenities on hand. Altogether a very enjoyable, peaceful & relaxing stay.
