The Byre in Glasphein is a luxurious newly built self catering property for two people situated in one of the most idyllic locations in Glendale in the North West of the Isle of Skye. The open plan / vaulted ceiling living accommodation has been thoughtfully designed and furnished to a very high standard with large floor to ceiling picture windows throughout to take in the outstanding panoramic views to Loch Pooltiel and the outer Isles. Next door to the bedroom is a luxurious shower room with a large walk in shower enclosure. ​ Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Great holiday home
This is a well fitted and homely cottage with everything you could need and views to die for! We loved our weeks stay.

Perfectly remote, beautiful views and good wheelchair access
Wow. This place is just lovely. It's remote for sure, down tiny single track lanes with sheep wandering past the window but that's why we booked it. The views from this newly built (1yr) bungalow are absolutely stunning and even on the couple of misty days we had we had we felt cozy and we enjoyed watching the view change daily. It's about 1mile from the local general store and a lovely cafe called Cafe Lephin. The property is clean, bright, newly done and the finishes are excellent. There's lots of space for a wheelchair to get around and a ramp to get in, although there's gravel in the drive which is always challenging for a chair, but if you park the car in the right place you can miss a lot of it. The living and kitchen area is well appointed, there's a full size dishwasher, washing machine, and small fridge. All the cooking utensils and implements you could wish for and a small cupboard with basics such as eggs, tea, coffee, herbs and spices etc. There's a lovely wood burning stove but we didn't need to use it. The bedroom has a perfect picture window and lots of space to hang clothes. It could probably benefit from a chest of drawers rather than a dressing table as there wasn't much space to put underwear or things that you wouldn't normally hang up. The bed was a little soft and slightly lumpy for my liking. The living area is spacious and a nice chaise sofa, but there's no coffee table for drinks or books so we used the bench from the dining table. The bathroom is a large size, pleasant and although not a wetroom, if you have some mobility the shower is accessible. Debbie, the owner was very helpful and supportive through the booking process knowing our disability situation and couldn't have done more to help. A lovely remote, perfectly quiet peaceful break.

Glasphein is located in the scenic Glendale area in the North / West corner of the stunning Isle of Skye. The area is well known for its natural beauty and abundance of wild life. From your doorstep you can start exploring the many walks and the nearby shore, and a short drive away is the popular visitor attraction Neist Point where you can witness spectacular sunsets, although luckily for you, these can also be viewed directly from the property! The village of Glendale boasts a very well equipped licensed shop / post office and a popular café, all of which are within easy walking distance of the property. Less than a 10-minute drive is the world famous Three Chimneys restaurant where you can treat yourself to an evening of fine dining.
