Cottage
Lilac Tree Cottage is a pretty, traditional Irish cottage dating back to 1860 with a modern twist. It is located on a street of stone cottages on the edge of the small historic village of Greyabbey with its Cistercian abbey dating back to 1160. The abbey is set in beautiful parkland and is just across the way from the cottage, the perfect spot for walks and picnics. Greyabbey has a number of historic buildings and a selection of antique and vintage shops, restaurants and coffee shops. The cottage has been recently renovated and is furnished with a mixture of vintage and contemporary pieces yet maintains its charm with all modern home comforts. Delightful cottage
An absolutely charming cottage, well equipped stylish and with a very pretty garden. We booked to attend a wedding at Orange Tree House, which is an easy, flat 10 minute walk, manageable in heels!! Ideal location for the venue, but obviously for exploring other parts of this beautiful area. If we had more time....but the superb accommodation gives us a wonderful excuse to return, which hopefully we will one day. Janet was a super host in every way, with a warm smile on arrival along with wine and chocolates. One thing; if you are fond of a few drinks whilst relaxing in this tranquil place, be aware the local shop does not sell alcohol. However, the very pleasant Wildfowler Inn was happy to sell us take out, after a delicious meal. A wonderful wedding weekend was had by all, ably assisted by Janet and her charming cosy cottage.

Perfect cottage in good location.
Lilac cottage is delightful. It's comfortable and warm and has everything you need. It's a good location - easy to get to Belfast and coast. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Just beautiful
Just returned from a fabulous 3 days at Lilac Cottage. This was a trip cancelled 3 times over the last year due to covid restrictions so I was delighted to be able to finally explore this part of Northern Ireland. Lilac cottage is beautiful and just across the road from the Grey Abbey ruins. Everything is provided from kitchen utensils, tea, coffee, kindling for the stove fire, hairdryer in the bedroom & Janet left a welcome bottle of wine and cupcakes and treats for my dog which was a lovely touch. The decor in the cottage is subtle, thoughtful and very homely with little quirky touches everywhere. There is also a garden pro the side which is great if you have a pet. Strangford Lough is on your doorstep, beautiful Ballywalter beach less than 10 minutes drive away and a trip up to Scrabo tower at Newtownards is a must for the views of Belfast and surrounding countryside. I definitely will be back!

Short break in greyabbey
We stayed at the lovely Lilac tree cottage for 3 nights whilst visiting family and enjoying a bit of R and R. The cottage was as beautifully appointed as the photos had suggested and we appreciated the extra touches - a lovely bottle of wine and box chocolates as well as the more standard provision of tea, coffee and sugar. It was a peaceful place to stay with beautiful views of the abbey and the good weather was a bonus! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Quaint little cottage
We stayed in Lilac Tree Cottage to celebrate a big birthday! Janet was so kind and left a bottle of wine , chocolates and a birthday balloon! We were so delighted and pleased at such a thoughtful welcome. The cottage is warm and very cosy. It was decorated for Christmas with a tree and lights. We hibernated the whole weekend and chilled out completely! Took a few goes to figure out the hob in the kitchen but Janet was available via text to sort it out quickly! Just our lack of electric hob knowledge!! We were sorry to leave but felt really ready to face the madness of Christmas so time well spent in a very cute cottage!! Thanks again Janet!

A dreamy getaway
From the moment we arrived, I was immediately blown away by how lovely the cottages were and couldn’t stop admiring how each of the rooms were beautifully decorated with antique trinkets. I had booked all three cottages for myself, my family and guests who flew in from overseas for my wedding and Janet was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Not only was she prompt in her replies, she helped make part of the wedding planning so much more stress-free. We even took wedding photos in the garden and my husband and I were delighted with how the photos turned out. I highly recommend staying at either of the cottages and will love to stay again myself the next time we’re back in Northern Ireland!

Beautiful cottage
An amazing 2 bed cottage with everything thought of by Janet. Every room is beautifully decorated and it has everything you need. We booked our stay as we were attending a wedding in greyabbey. Felt like home and the welcoming pack of wine, crisps and chocolate was a lovely gesture. Thank you janet. We will be recommending to our friends and we will difintely be returning to stay for a chilled out weekend away in near future. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in this area. 5🌟 accommodation
