'Rose Cottage' is a pretty, traditional Irish cottage which dates back to 1860. It is located on a quiet listed street on the edge of the historic village of Greyabbey with its Cistercian abbey dating back to 1160. The abbey is set in beautiful parkland and is just across the way from the cottage, the perfect spot for walks and picnics. Greyabbey has a number of historic buildings and a great selection of antique and vintage shops, restaurants and coffee shops. The village is on the side of Strangford Lough which has a multitude of attractions.

Rose Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or for a young family. As the bathroom is ensuite it may not suit parties of adults.

Rose Cottage is on the edge of the small village of Greyabbey and is within easy walking distance of the ruins of the stunning 12th century Cistercian Abbey and its beautiful parkland, local play park, boutique, antique and vintage shops, coffee shops and restaurants and just a short drive to the beautiful beach and harbour of Ballywalter. Major supermarkets and amenities at Newtownards are just 10 minutes drive away. We recommend you hire a car to make the best of seeing the sites around this pretty area. If you prefer to travel by public transport it is possible to get a bus from Belfast to Greyabbey via Newtownards. It takes approximately 1 hour. The bus stops are located close to the cottage.

From Belfast International Airport
On leaving the airport follow the signs to Belfast. These will lead you on to the M2 motorway straight to Belfast. As you approach the end of the motorway (it broadens into 5 or 6 lanes), follow the signs for the M3 in the direction of Bangor/Newtownards. **As you pass George Best Airport on your left prepare to exit at the A55 Outer Ring/A20 Newtownards. Therein follow the signs for the A20 to Newtownards. * As you approach Newtownards you will come to a major roundabout. Follow the signs for Portaferry along the A20. Greyabbey is situated 7 miles outside of Newtownards. When you reach the roundabout in Greyabbey, take the first left along Main Street. At the T-junction take a right onto Church Street.
